We’ve failed so many times, but at least the resin looks good!

Hey guys! Wow since we last checked in about the laptop there have been several failures. First off, mounting the screen was pretty tough and we realized partway through that it was actually crooked AND off center.

So we removed the monitor, filled the holes with wood putty, drilled new ones, and re-hung it. And it was STILL slightly crooked 😭. We decided it wasn’t too bad and we’d move forward to the next step, CNCing a Joob emblem (see my digital mockup)

And partway through the carve Evan realized it was… sideways 😭😭😭

So we had to go back to the store, get more wood, cut it to size, drill holes for the monitor, cut out the corners, paint, and finish it… And when I tell you we both triple checked that it was oriented right on this second attempt, you better believe it!

In the (not sideways!) carving, we poured neon resin because that felt like it would go well with the LEDs we’re planning on having and the good news is it turned out great! Just like the mockup!
