So we were approached by a more traditional media company about a "day in our life" article and we really had some fun taking photos for it (the media for this post should be a gif of the highlights). We're also not sure when the article will be released but you know we like giving y'all not only behind the scenes sneak peeks on things but also early access to stuff, so here is what we sent over to them:

8:30 am: I (Katelyn) wake up to Joob purring and sniffing my face because it's her breakfast time. After brushing my teeth, I get Joob her favorite wet cat food (aka kitty soup) that she gets in the morning. I make a coffee that is 75% milk and shuffle to our office to see what's on our shared to do list for today.

9:00 am: Evan wakes up and joins me, stealing sips of my coffee because he likes the way I make it best. Usually I'll work on the current edit, uploading/reviewing gaming videos, etc. Evan usually starts drafting email responses and doing research or design work for our next project. Joob joins us when she's done with her kitty soup breakfast.

10:30 am: We tell ourselves we're gonna actually start filming our current project video *before* lunch today, so I go put on makeup to get ready. Evan turns on the AC in the workshop and starts gathering tools we need, measuring for any cuts we need to make, and brainstorms the order of operations.

11:00 am: We inevitably get hungry and decide to eat before filming ("we'll get an earlier start on filming *tomorrow*" we tell ourselves) and I make some pasta for lunch (we usually skip breakfast). We watch some YouTube while we eat.

12:00 pm: Ok NOW we're ready to film. Our workshop isn't fully set up yet at the new house so everything is a bit slower while we look for tools/materials we haven't unpacked yet. While filming, Evan usually keeps track of the order of operations for the project and I usually keep track of how we're telling the story with what we film. We film the current project for about an hour and half, then realize it's time to prep for our stream. Which works out anyway because often we have resin that needs to cure, glue that needs to dry, etc so we have to take breaks anyway.

1:30 pm: Evan starts prepping for our stream; getting game assets ready, setting up the camera and lights, prepping our social post for the go-live notification. Usually there's some sort of unexpected technical difficulty. I work on editing the footage we just filmed because I prefer to edit little by little as we go rather than edit the full thing in one chunk at the end of the project.

2:30-5:30 pm: We stream for a few hours; playing one of the games we have in rotation, hanging out with the viewers in our chat, and pranking each other any time one of us has to leave the room. Once we get started streaming it's often hard to stop playing our game, but we have to because we start getting hungry for dinner.

6:00 pm: We're too hungry to cook so we go grab some food out. We probably eat out too much, even though we love cooking, but we're often tight on time.

7:30-9:00 pm: We didn't film as much as we hoped to earlier today, so we go back out in the workshop to film some more. We try not to operate power tools or do anything too complex if we start getting tired, but usually we have to get to a certain point in the project by the end of the day to stay on schedule.

9:00pm: I work on uploading the uncut live stream footage (doing the thumbnail, metadata, etc) while Evan does some off-screen work on the current project (usually sanding, measuring, or applying finish). There are some parts of every project that take a long time to do but only require a second or two of footage, so often we'll divide and conquer this stuff so that we can get more work done.

10:00 pm: Although we planned to stop working around 10, we both get surges of productivity and end up doing computer work for another hour (whoops). I'm editing the stuff we filmed after the stream, Evan's checking to see if there are long lead times for any items we need to purchase for upcoming projects.

11:00 pm: It's nice outside at night so we go on a walk to relax and get our minds off work before bed. Sometimes we wonder if it's creepy that we often go on walks around 11 or 12... hopefully we don't weird anybody out! After our walk it's bedtime. We almost always go to bed wishing we didn't have to sleep, and excited for the next day!
Now obviously this is not every day since we don't stream every day and sometimes we even make time for personal errands 🤣 but it works pretty well as an "average" day.
