Sponsor company Innovation Spark said this in an email at April 26 2019: "For the past six years, Innovation Spark, Inc has been producing the Houston Maker Faire. As a non-profit, we rely 100% on donations and volunteers. As we started planning the 2019 Houston Maker Faire, we realized we would not be able to host a Maker Faire at the same level as the one in 2018. Many factors contributed to this conclusion, including the venue cost, location, attendance, volunteers and sponsors. Unfortunately, Innovation Spark will not be hosting a 2019 Houston Maker Faire but partnering with other Maker events in the greater Houston area for the year. These events include Austin Maker Faire, Comicpalooza, Energy Day and Maker Space events. Innovation Spark will still work with others to organize Maker events in the greater Houston Area"
