Chords For The Saddest Part Of The Movie
Added 2022-02-01 20:06:46 +0000 UTCAfter my semi annual Lord of The Rings trilogy binge, I've become obsessed with this i-VI-III-VII progression in a minor key. Howard Shore uses this progression in many of the pivotal emotional sequences in the movies. It's amazing how powerful this progression is at evoking emotion. Some key things to note however, in the progression, I think it's important to play the III chord in 1st inversion so that you get a nice descending bassline moving from the VI down to III in step. Also, I took some liberties on the progression, sometimes deviating from the chords, instead just retaining the bassline.
