Right Hand Tapping Challenge / Riff (Advanced Exercise)
Added 2020-06-07 03:44:56 +0000 UTCSee attached
Here's a riff that I've been practicing a lot lately. The goal of this riff is to provide a workout in the right hand. It targets each finger, helping to build dexterity, and it involves a number of technical challenges including: 1) leaps 2) notes on the same string and 3) chord changes.
In terms of its harmony, the riff targets upper structure triads contained in a DMi9 and FMA7/A structure. If you're not familiar with this concept, check out my document on 'Plural Substitutions' (released a few weeks ago). The riff also targets some pentatonic scale sounds.
Hope you have fun learning this / like the aesthetic of the sounds!
