The Math Rock / Emo Scale is an idea derived from some observations of the harmony used in many contemporary Math Rock and Emo Revival Groups. While this scale sound isn’t used by every single band, this general harmonic concept is employed by groups that adopt the “pretty sound”, such as Totorro, Tiny Moving Parts, American Football, etc."
