[META UPDATE 3/4] Now with Searchability, Master Post, Google Drive & Directories

Hello everyone! I’m sorry for not getting this out yesterday as I said I would - I have some awful flu or COVID or something awful making me very ill! Fevers, chills and all that good stuff. But I wanted to get this out today at the latest to keep to the schedule I’ve put in my head.

So this is the THIRD of these updates around offerings and what Athana Chronicles is going to have / be going forwards, and this one is all about quality of life, ease of use, and general better searchability. The previous two updates related to Items, Spells and Monsters can be found here:

So, for this update, what are we offering? Quite simply it’s two massive online spreadsheets with the info on there of every item, spell and monster we have and will ever make. On top of this, we have roughly decided on the proper tiers and offerings the patreon will have after the upcoming true launch, and as such have also been working on setting up the right online drives and directories for these tiers for ease of access and use. On top of this all of these things are going to be pinned in a ‘never-again-moved’ master post which will be pinned at the top of the page, never unpinned. Within this master post you will be able to find forwarding links to absolutely everything you could possibly need to access, i.e, a link to the master monster directory, or a link to the master post of your specific tier, which will link you through to your own google drive with all of the content from the tier inside.

The Item and Spell Directory

The directory is filterable by Base Item Category, Item/Spell Type, Rarity / Spell Level, if the item is attunable, and what release the item or spell was from. From this directory you can also find the links where appropriate to the D&D beyond version of the item or spell, for easy access, and also to the patreon posts where you can download and access the physical print version cards, and concept images.

When the launch finally goes out and the new tiers will be available, all of the old posts will be modified from Founder’s only to the tiers that would have access to this content. As all Patrons will have access to the Item’s and Spells at least in some way, this directory will be accessible by all, however only those of the correct tier when selecting the link to access the physical cards will have access.

The Monster Directory

As I stated in the previous update post we’re currently going back through the backlog of old monsters and giving them topdown tokens and D&D beyond links, however all of these will eventually be added into their own space in this list. This Monster Directory has access to the portrait and topdown tokens for the monsters, as well as direct links to the D&D Beyond version of the Monster for a statblock reference, and a link to the Patreon release of the Monster for more robust info, such as the lore, stat blocks, and variations. There is also a download folder link, which will take you to a separate folder where you can download every variant of token for this monster.

The list is filterable by Monster Type, CR and Environment, so you will be able to search through the growing list, using the token images as a quick reference guide for what you’re looking at.

So…

Very shortly after this update post goes out, the Founder’s will be getting 2 more posts going out, which will be the forever homes of the links to these two different directories. Everytime an item, spell or monster is released, it will be added to the respective list and it will be another on there! You leave us for a few months, come back a while later, you can check out what’s been added since you left etc, all filterable, all searchable. Of course, with only the 80 or so items and the less than 10 monsters, right now these lists are rather small, but in 2 years time, this won’t be the case!

As for the Master Post, I want to keep the current Meta Updates pinned as they come out and as such will leave it that way for now. However as soon as the launch update goes out, and I overhaul the rest of the Patreon, I'll put up a Master Post, pin it and there it will stay.

Finally

As alluded to in this update post, the final update will be coming soon-ish, it’s related to what we’re calling Athana Chronicle’s real ‘launch’, what tiers we’ll have and how this is all going to work!

I’ll endeavour to get a few more items out this week - (I want to do another Corestone and Vestige in the next few days!) before I get out this big launch post!
