2022-03-02 02:51:35 +0000 UTCI love this movie so much. Especially the geography. A good portion of South Texas is actually below sea level, so that entire area would be impassable. The river they’re crossing into Mexico is called Rio Bravo (in Mexico, Rio Grande in US) because at its lowest it still kills people trying to cross it on the regular. With raised ocean levels, even the mountain canyon parts of the river on the west side would be impassable on foot. Most importantly though, if Dennis Quaid had just waited until the storm ended, he would have gotten there in a helicopter at in the same amount of time and his oldest friend would still be alive.
