I hate to admit it, but between the book and getting ahead for Eli's paternity leave, I completely forgot I hadn't already posted it. I actually worked on, and am in the sequel! Unfortunately, as commenters have said upthread though... It's, uh, not good (not even in a good-bad way)... But the cast was nice at least!

Noah is a proud pedant that can utter the names of unpronouncable European volcanoes, seemingly with ease. I'm sorry, but if you can practice zxkjyfdyunplk enough so you can get a clean take for the record, you can take the 5 seconds to remind yourself that in Japanese, the O makes the O sound.

They tried to cash in on what made the original great, and just ended up making a really bad movie that didn’t get the original joke. I can’t quite work out of they intentionally made an intelligible plot though, or just failed at that too. It’s not a good bad movie, it’s just woefully bad in a bad way. Very disappointed and baffled.

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as much as at the start of the sword fight where they approach each other from opposite ends of the Appalachian Trail. Please grab yourself a beer, you’ve all earned it.

2020-06-05 23:52:48 +0000 UTCAs a sword nerd, "Katana means Japanese sword" is extra wrong because like any country that made swords, there are a BUNCH of Japanese swords. The katana is specifically the sword with the curved single-edged blade that's usually in the "medium" size range of Japanese swords. So it's kind of like if you called all swords used in Spain "rapiers" because it's the only sword you've heard of that they used.
