GAM196 Alien Intrusion: Unmasking a Deception

This week, we have Thomas and Aaron from Philosophers in Space on to talk about getting raped by inter-dimensional demons. And they have to spend the rest of their lives pondering why we chose them when we asked ourselves, "You know who probably knows a lot about getting raped by inter-dimensional demons?"

I was re-listening to this episode and I remember meaning to make the same point that you made. Though, I don't think that that fact redeems the people that made the movie. I imagine that they saw that the Star Wars movies had episode numbers and just ran with it.

Knight Of The Buffet Table

A few years ago, Christian guys online got all caught up with the same weird fantasy: imagining themselves watching the people they hate getting raped by demons in Hell. I have no idea what idiot apologist came up with THAT one, but I got that threat out of the blue more than a few times from more than a few different fundie men, so it had to come from somewhere. They at least thought it made quite a compelling sales pitch: "Do what I say and quit mocking me, or else THIS is what's waiting for you after you die!" The amount of detail they lavished on these fantasies was downright disturbing. Maybe they thought it made their bizarre take on Pascal's Wager more persuasive. (This would have been a bit before 2015, when Phil Robertson decided to publicly unveil that disgusting fantasy of his about the rape and murder of an atheist man's family, in the early days of my own blog's life.) Thankfully, most of 'em seem to have figured out that threatening people, even with imaginary violence meted out by their imaginary friends, isn't a grand way to make sales. But wait! Along comes this movie to show me once again that once a bad idea becomes canon in Christianity, it never entirely leaves.

I mean Star Wars movies are colloquially called episodes . At least for where im at.
