Wild. I was thinking of that play too. Saw it in Minneapolis in the mid-90s.

2017-10-28 00:45:23 +0000 UTCThis story was done right! Except it was 1993. And it's a play by Jane Martin. And it's called "Keely and Du". Other than that, same thing: forced birthers kidnap a pregnant woman named Keely so she can't abort her fetus. She bonds with one of her captors, Du, a nurse, all while being handcuffed to a gurney. It is much more horrific and thought provoking. And yes, Keely tries to escape. And there's great confrontation with her ex-husband/rapist, now a born again xtian. There's a guest appearance by Mr. Cotanger, too! I found the whole play on Youtube in Italian, but I don't think that will you any good. Here's a clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6JPEzRnYgs I haven't seen it performed since the 90s, but man, as a Catholic high school student at the time, this really made me think a lot about what it means to be pro-life and and pro-choice at a place where there was only one right way to think.
