Bannock's Guide to Monsters of Mejina

Hyehorse

Why do we know it's called a Hyehorse? Because they tell us every single time!

Okay so these things are very not harmless. I know it doesn't seem it; you take one look at these poor things stumbling around, constantly losing their balance, cheerfully spouting word salad out of their mouth. And you just wanna comfort them, or maybe laugh at them.

Ask yourself why they never fall over.

Now that's out of the way, what they actually do. Hyehorses have a really strong kick at melee range, so stay out of that. Their bite hurts too, and their teeth is their weapon of choice. They're not very fast, but they can't be knocked over and they can't be stopped. They'll get where they're goin eventually, and if they decide you're in the way, you're gonna have to put em down before they put you down.

Even at range, you're still not safe. Hyehorses inflict Fear and Rattled on targets, and then use those effects to heal themselves. And as a weapon of last resort, they can channel a scream that'll peel the skin off your bones if it goes on long enough. You're gonna want at least one Controller on your team.

Not all Hyehorses are out to kill you, but considering the risks of making a mistake, it's better to just assume they all are.

Stahl's Notes: In truth, Hyehorses are supposed to be protective entities. Left to their own devices in a ruined town, with no people, they'll root out any monsters even at a detriment to themselves. With enough time they'll repair the entire town, buildings and all until its in a completely clean and pristine state as if it had been just built.

It's theorised that this is the reason why there are no village ruins out there.

I myself doubted this theory much to the frustration and nagging of The Collegiate but, then I witnessed it happen with my own eyes.

Much like Badsectors, Platitudes and Araced, these creatures cannot stand any form of rot or destruction and will go out of their way, as if compelled by some outer force, to fix it.

In a room with broken down materials they will whimper and fuss and become quite hostile if they aren't allowed to Repair it.
