Maybe it’s my American sensibility, but I wish you would have pushed back harder against the callers claiming that not providing a paid platform to white supremacism is tantamount to censorship. We all know what Steve Bannon is about, if he wants to talk on a street corner and get a permit, good for him, but let’s not validate him by giving him an officially sanctioned platform.
The monk debates seem to me to be flawed intrinsically. Billed as a neutral platform, but instead set up as right wing politicon. Right wing populism isn’t populism in the truest sense, to frame it as such is disingenuous.
Also, to the caller who complained about violence committed by left wing activists: Most violence is being committed by people running in Bannon’s thought bubble. Bombings, shootings, vehicular manslaughter, terrorism, all being perpetrated by the American political far right. I hope in the future, you’ll hold forcefully to the strength of facts and your convictions.
