I completely agree with you about Kim Dicken’s portrayal of Madison. I really wish they didn’t bring her back. I feel like when Alycia Debnam-Carey announced she was leaving they started grasping at straws to save the viewership. I honestly cringe whenever she was on screen in this last season. The acting was just horrendous in my opinion. Alexa Nisenson (Charlie) absolutely outacted her. It was so heartbreaking to see Charlie go. I was disappointed they brought her character back to just kill her in the same episode. It’s better than not knowing her fate after s7 but it’s heartbreaking that she went out like this. The writers are so far up Madison’s ass it’s ridiculous. She is the worst character in the series and they still try and call her the protagonist it’s laughable. Charlie was a far better character and deserved a happy ending. Charlie’s relationships with Alicia and Daniel were some of the best of this series in my opinion. Alexa Nisenson deserves so much praise for her portrayal of Charlie. She started at only 11 and did such a phenomenal job. I look forward to watching her career blossom. Rest Easy, Charlie 🕊️

2024-12-07 06:11:52 +0000 UTCIt’s a bit odd that the TV shows in this universe as they’ve gone on, have shy away from the assault of that nature towards kids, other than showing that Carl almost suffered horribly back in S4. But in the comics, Carl went after Lydia & felt protective over her because of the abuse she revealed to him after taking his V Card (tv Henry’s arc). Lydia in the comics was about 16 & Comic Carl was about 13/14 at that time. But Lydia revealed to that she believed it was acceptable and normal behavior for the people in her group to just use her in every primal sense of the way, and her mother allowed it completely and entirely. Other than the fact that it was just wrong of her to go back to the whisperers to begin with them adding onto it that extra bit of detail of abuse is what justified Carl going after her which eventually lead to the heads on spikes indirectly & the whole War. Buuut yeah I had a weird vibe about Charlie’s group too, not sure I ever got enough confirmation tho tbh

2024-12-07 04:42:15 +0000 UTCYeah, you’re not alone and thinking that Madison’s actress in this specific role is not really doing a great job which is unfortunate because I’ve seen Kim Dickens do phenomenal work and other shows and projects. It was one of the reasons why I didn’t mind as much when I thought she was gone, but why it upset me more when Travis was killed because I thought he had quite a bit more potential
