I really can't understand how anyone can dislike this episode, when watching the whispering is pure pleasure. Yes, they have very serious mental disorders, but this is what is interesting ... To see a new look at what is happening. Prior to this, a third of season 8 was a solid action movie, which was boring for me.

2023-07-27 11:06:50 +0000 UTCI completely agree that this is one of the worst episodes of the series. I feel nothing for these characters and we know what monstrous human beings they are. We didn’t need a whole episode of it. There is an episode later this season that I really dislike as well. I love the show but this felt unnecessary. Could’ve had five mins of it in the episode and that’s it.

Side note though, tho not explicitly shown, Alpha essentially lets her people be primal & use any of the women they want, including Lydia, and in the source material that is a big part of what causes the initial conflict when we first meet Lydia, we find out about alpha’s abuse to Lydia & the fact she essentially allows the people in her group to run trains on the women whenever they want whether they are consenting to it or not & that’s why I didn’t really have an issue with Henry wanting to protect & save her, Carl was the same way in the comics with Lydia after finding out what the people In the whisperers group do to the young women/girls
