2025-06-21 00:01:51 +0000 UTCQuick clarifications: Harald is in fact Canute's brother (their dad was Sweyn). The situation there will become clearer eventually. Ketil actually owns very few slaves, most of the people working his land are essentially like sharecroppers leasing the land and working it with their families. Though of course as Einar points out, their status isn't all that different in practice. I really love the way this season explores slavery vs. freedom in every sense. Makes me appreciate season 1 more too, with how well these themes were set up.
