Don’t take everything so seriously if you see something you think is weird or dumb or doesn’t make sense call it out. The reason people love this show is the fact that the writers never really talked down to the kids so don’t talk down to the viewers.

2023-11-21 18:34:09 +0000 UTCahhh boast busters and gryphon the brush off the introduction of 2 huge fan favorites. sadly they where never meant for anything more then 1 of characters. I felt so bad for laughing at trixie i figured hey its about friendship and she is their boastful friend always brought down a peg for a funny gag..... no just 1 shot and gone. but thats the great thing about the fandom if you give a character at least 5 seconds of air time they would take care of the rest and give an entire story behind them. speaking of which if ya want songs their are 2 for these I recommend 1st is prince whateverer's and many other artists breaking bonds and aviators second chances

2023-11-21 18:07:47 +0000 UTCThen we have Boast Busters, and the arrival of The Grrrreat and Powerful Trrrrrixie! Yeah as TTE noted, she is, bar none, the single most popular one off character in Season 1. The mane 6 get a lot of flak for heckling her and runing her show but... I don't think it's deserved, none of them were heckling, or even talking loud enough to get noticed by her, just remarking on they found her attitude off putting.... until RD tried to deflect her getting called out for her own ego with some actual heckling, yeah RD did cross the line, but before that? People make the argument Trixie needs to prop herself up, it's part of her act, she's a show mare, and that is right, but she crosses the line from propping herself up, to pushing others down, which is where she goes wrong. Then we have Snips and Snails..... no one really liked them, and the fact they were some of the first male characters in the show... ugh.... still things do get better. But those two are just.... bleh. As to the whole talk about magic.... it's kind of another case of early installment weirdness as the general way it's described works, but some of the details get refined later on. But yes, Twilight's special talent, IS Magic itself. Not only is she amazingly powerful, but if you've ever played Final Fantasy....she's a Blue Mage, she is able to almost instantly learn mearly any spell just by seeing it cast once. Glad you are loving the ride, you are about to hit some of the most loved eps of Season 1!

So, first ep, Griffon the Brush Off, yup Griffons are real, one of the benefits of being owned by Hasbro is the show staff has the entire D&D bestiary to pull from, there are all sorts of creatures and monsters from all kinds of mythologies and folklore around the world. Just this small taste of knowing other major, sentient races existed was a huge boost to OC creation, with Griffons tending to be the most popular non-equine OC. Then we have the ep and, okay, first off, I caught you doing it... stop it. Do not question The Pink One, that way lies only madness! Repeat after me "It's Pinkie Pie, don't question it." As we learn here, if The Pink One marks you as her prey.... you can pray to whatever deity you believe in, but they cannot save you from her, for she WILL find you. Yeah, as you kind of noted, I do love this ep for not only showing that pranks and practical jokes can be fun, but making clear the limit, to know who you are pranking, how they will take it, and that the key is for everyone to come away laughing in the end. That there is a line between being an prankster, and being an asshole, one which Pinkie Pie is very careful not to cross. Then, on top of that, we have a kids morality message show that is actually willing to just say "Yeah, some people are just toxic AF and you need to kick them out of your life if they refuse to knock it off." the first hints that this show will have more mature, nuanced, and thought out morals then is standard. Oh and on the I really did not intend it to be but it's becoming a running theme of executive meddling.... not in this ep itself in any major way from Hasbro itself, but it became a joke in the fandom that the network that aired the show in Canada felt the need to censor this ep, they felt 'loser' was to harsh a word for young kids to hear.

Lots of people love Gilda, she's popular and was a big mascot in the early days, but she rarely shows up again. The real MEGA topic to cover is the fan-favorite Boast Busters. Trixie was, is, and always will be huge in MLP Lore. She's got a lot of history both in the show, the comics, and the books. It's a lot to get into right now, but it's good stuff. You'll hear a lot about Trixie being trans because she actually has model assets that are usually reserved for stallions (her eyes) and she was originally written as a male, but was changed last minute in production. To answer your early question, you'll learn about Cutie Marks later, promise. You'll become a bit of an expert. I'm not an artist, but I have the means to make you something, at least. Can you give me a few of your favorite colors? (3-5) and one thing you're passionate about, or are able to do that you take pride in? Those two are the big important details for a pony character.
