2025-02-02 12:17:35 +0000 UTCJinx was testing everyone in the last scene. “Her name is Jinx. You’ll be with her a day before she realizes you aren’t that girl anymore,” is Silco telling Jinx that Vi won’t accept that she’s changed (we see Vi’s reaction when Jinx is trigger happy against the Firelights). “I paid your girlfriend a visit this morning,” and bringing out a tray with a cover, is Jinx seeing if Silco is correct, and if Vi does think she would cut off Caitlyn’s head (Vi was scared of her). “Vi, she’s too far gone,” is Caitlyn telling Vi that she can’t change her (Ekko said it & Silco has accepted who she is), and Vi’s “she’s my sister,” is her saying Powder is still in there. Jinx places the gun towards Silco on purpose, because Silco told Jinx that Vi was dead the whole time, & she knew he was gonna try to shut Vi up (she shot Silco as a reflex showing her family still matters to her), but immediately regrets it because she killed the only person who accepted her (becoming a Jinx), and then blowing up the Council who was going to give Silco what he worked for (embracing Jinx).

2025-01-15 00:43:22 +0000 UTCNo need to apologize and I hope I didn't come off as attacking. Just adding extra context and as you said, you thought he was being sincere. Nice to see you in the comments. Also this show very much takes the route of "show, don't tell" especially in season 2. They do leave it up the audience a lot to conclude their own views or perceptions. Anyways, love the reaction and can't wait for season 2. Stay safe @lia, Courtney, Molly

2025-01-15 00:17:41 +0000 UTCSilco really did love jinx. Its why he was at Vanders staute. He finally understood Vanders change of heart. Silco is one step away from his nation of zaun but cant do it because his love for Jinx. The same way Vander chose Vi and Powder over Zaun. That scene hurt so much when he poured one out for him.... "it all makes sense now brother" :c

2025-01-15 00:11:14 +0000 UTCAs I said in the reaction, I personally also thought he was being sincere in the end and I love the scene when he was talking to Vander’s statue. I definitely picked up on what he was saying about Jinx and how he was never going to give her up! Sorry, if you thought we misunderstood that scene! After watching an hour long of a fast paced show, it’s sometimes hard to put all ur thoughts into the discussion immediately after watching. - Lia

2025-01-14 23:55:33 +0000 UTCI've thought about this recently and only seen a few comments on other reactions. But after binge watching this series and some reactions, l personally think Vi is wrong about Jayce and her statements in the opening. In many ways think about it, while we can assume Jayce is from the topside, at least to our knowledge and can assume, he's just been a regular citizen himself. Yes he is smart and probably given more opportunities than those in the lower city but he had no power or say. If anything, he's been wanting to help and improve the world based off his experience with the mage and creating hextech. Vi's biggest pitfall as we have seen is she is brash, head strong and goes all in, she's also assumptions. Jayce has barely been part of this at all in however many days he's been a councilor. If anything, as much as I love Heimdeinger, he's more at all fault for letting the city down and letting it devolve to what it's become. Hell if he's been there since the beginning, he would've been there during the uprising, we don't know what power he had, but as smart and old as he is, he could've down more to help the city as whole. Also super ironic Silco was just talking about loyalty, then a complete 180, EVERYONE betrays us lol

2025-01-14 23:49:14 +0000 UTCNot my original comment, but one comment I really liked besides thousands is "Piltover made Jinx. Piltover's neglect convinced a man like Vander to put together the whole underground, and then lead a charge across the bridge. One of the more sinister but subtle implications that we see throughout the show is that topsiders and the Enforcers KNOW that the air in the undercity is toxic. They know the air is so toxic that they designed fully enclosed helmets with gas masks built in to them for enforcers who are regularly tasked with going down there. Look at the difference between enforcers patrolling topside, and enforcers for the undercity. Enforcers topside just wear cloth uniforms and use those bolo balls to ensnare suspects. Enforcers sent to the undercity are given full suits of armor, helmets with gas masks, metal telescoping batons, and rifles. When chasing the kids in the undercity, they didn't have those bolos to ensnare them, Marcus drew his sidearm and for a second looked like he was considering pulling the trigger. He pulled his weapon on kids. The difference in how enforcers operate topside versus the undercity tells you everything you need to know about how topsiders feel about "trencher trash." The way Marcus says "trencher trash" you can tell it's a slur. The council, the enforcers, all the people thriving and living in luxury topside created Jinx. Created Silco. Made Vander feel like the only chance the people in the lanes had for getting a better life was a violent uprising. With all the resources in Piltover, they never did anything about the toxic air and water in the undercity. Vi, Powder, Mylo, Claggor, Ekko, all of their parents had either abandoned them or were dead. The kids working in that factory? How much you wanna bet they lived there too? Piltover's neglect turned good people in to killers." "When Jinx fired that rocket, she made the choice to be fully herself and commit to her Father's dream : to get back at Piltover and stand up for the nation of Zaun. When Jinx sits at the Jinx chair and confronts Vi one last time, she's saying goodbye. She is Jinx and yeah that moment when Vi left Jinx made Jinx. It may have only been a moment, but it was a defining moment that spanned for years afterwards. That changed Powder into Jinx and when Jinx shot Silco and Silco told her "don't cry, you're perfect." Jinx realized that she was Jinx - that's who she is now. And she fully embraces it. Vi thinks she can get Powder back, but Powder is gone. That's one thing Silco understood that Vi didn't. And that's why Jinx said "I thought you could love me like you used to" but the fact of the matter is Vi just can't do that. Jinx wants to kill Caitlyn, she wants to kill enforcers. She chose the path of destruction. Vi chose the path that Vander had chosen. Jinx is Silco's daughter, Vi is Vander's daughter. That's the parallel the show is trying to make. And since Arcane is a frigging masterpiece, the irony in all this is that Jinx fires that rocket towards the council to honor Silco's memory. But unbeknownst to her, she will completely destroy what Silco had worked all his life to achieve : the nation of Zaun. She "jinxed" everything, one last ultimate time. The irony is she's exactly what she is and what Silco wants her to be : herself. A Jinx. Jinx. And her final act is to jinx the peace treaty and the amendment of the Nation of Zaun."

2025-01-14 23:48:08 +0000 UTCAs much I don't like Silco as character, he was being sincere. As you misunderstood his monologue when talking to Vander statue. There's plenty of great breakdowns and analysis but to keep it simple as be. When he says "Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?" He says this because he now not only understands why Vander gave up on a more fierce fight for their independence, but now has become what he hated at one point in time. He is willing to give up everything he has fought for, because the love he has for Jinx outweighs everything he has done. He literally has to just give over one person to finally have his dream, vision and hopefully better life for everybody in the undercity, but that one person is the one person he won't forsake because he loves Jinx too much.

2025-01-14 23:47:46 +0000 UTCI got lots of comments i'll drop, not actually much criticism really but I do love your reaction. Someone else said it pretty well, you guys definitely missed a lot of details and don't remember a lot, etc. but it does bring up a good point on a few things. Firstly, I recommend you go back through and read your comments through each episode reaction. A lot of us have helped provided extra context for things. Secondly, in your total defense, they really do throw you into this world during a revolution and into this world. They do this a lot more during season 2 than season 1, but the "Show, don't tell." which has it's own positives and negatives as an artistic choice. And even without show, don't tell, they still don't provide a lot of context on some of the bigger world aspects of Runeterra such as "outside threats." etc. Also now you have to wait 1,085 days, which equals 26,040 hours before you can watch season 2 XD roughly almost 3 years lol

2025-01-14 22:20:18 +0000 UTCYou guys definitely missed out on a lot of context not being able to remember things from previous episodes, but such is life, not everyone has the time to watch this show a gagillian times.

2025-01-14 22:17:44 +0000 UTCAn important point that I feel quite a few reactor's miss is that Jinx is not just after Vi's love in general, but jinx specifically asks Vi to 'love me like you used to'. Jinx watched her parents die on a bridge and has suffered badly with abandonment ever since. We saw the effects of that when Vi went off to free vander without Powder and it sent her into a crying siral. Killing Vander and her adopted family only worsened that condition. Jinx wants Vi to treat her as the most important person in her life, above literally everyone else, and the presence of Caitlyn compicates that as Jinx sees Vi's loyaltly being split. Jinx asks Vi to kill Caitlyn to prove to Jinx that she is still the most important person in Vi's life, like she used to be. Her reasoning of course is stemming from her deep fear of abandonment so is obviously not rational, but that's where her mindset is at.
