No they can still use ODM gear off of titans bodies. They just don’t have many other objects to go off of. The reason they cant do it is because he’s to hot. Things are starting on fire in front of him 10-50 yards out. He basically emits steam like the other titan but wayyyyyy hotter lol.

I made sure to not include spoilers and only use the exact information the show has presented thus far. Only reason I offer is so it doesnt feel like the show has big dumb plot holes, you can also come back to any notes given after finishing the series to see what other people figured out/theorized as not everything will be black and white

(If that makes sense!) Also a lot of the stuff you are talking about here, I have already discussed/figured out in previous editing Lia segments lol. 2024-04-14 21:25:00 +0000 UTCI'm too lazy to go back and check but pretty sure the reason they don't slash Reiss' neck sooner is because he's in a big open field, so no leverage points to use the ODM gear to get high enough to do it.

The syringe is "believed to contain spinal fluid", all syringes contain the same substance and when injected into someone (royal or not) they become a "pure titan" with no intelligence or will of their own. Pure titans don't "have someone inside them" the human body is transformed into the titan itself (if you were to dissect a pure titan there'd by no human body inside), once one of these pure titans eat someone with "the power of the titans" they transform back into a human and then have those titan powers. 2. If someone of royal blood possesses the "founding titan" (one of the two titan powers Eren has) they gain godlike powers (but are also possessed by the first king's ideals which makes them not want to save humanity from the titans for some reason). 3. Rod Reiss' titan was too hot to get near, in the last episode he caught trees on fire just by getting close. The reason they needed to wait for him to get to the wall was to try using the cannons to kill him and if that didn't work Erwin was gambling on the fact he might not have a mouth left from dragging it on the ground so that they could blow him up by stuffing him full of TNT. 4. The reason technology is so privative in AOTs world is because the Interior police would "Disappear" people who tried progressing technology too far since it would be harder to control people if the public had more technological options (this is common for totalitarian dictatorships in the real world as well) in Season 3 Episode 2 Djel Sannes (the guy Hange/Levi torture) talks about the people they've silenced, one of which were Armin's Parents who tried inventing (and traveling the outside world with) a Hot air balloon. In the manga they also mention a gun smith who tried inventing a gun that could shoot multiple bullets without reloading after each shot.
