I don’t know if Greer is insane, but he’s definitely not an idiot. He’s a disciple, for Samaritan. He’s basically Root before The Machine taught her the value of human life. She wanted to set Her free, and damn the consequences for humanity. We’re just very lucky that The Machine was hard coded with a decent moral compass. Of course Harold had to leave all his money. Now that Samaritan is fully online he can’t risk going near any of his identities or bank accounts. Sad to see Hersh go. I do love the fact that even when he was working against Team Machine, he never had a red box. RIP George lol

Never was a big fan of Peter Collier and Vigilance. Maybe it was the actor or the way the character was written, but this part always felt a bit like a weaker plot-point. Glad seeing him and Vigilance gone now. The reveal that it was Greer all along creating and using Collier and Vigilance as tool for his own plans was nice and made it worth in the end. Still glad its over and we are starting the "battle of the gods" now :D

Season 3b is just so incredible. These last several episodes elevated this show to God-tier for me. I feel like this is when Nolan and Plageman finally got to do what they’ve always wanted to with this series. I really liked Peter Collier as an antagonist. He was a tragic villain realizing in the end that he was helping the very thing he thought he was fighting against. Greer fooled everyone! Upon rewatching and knowing he created Vigilance is interesting, and you realize that Vigilance was present and served as a distraction during the key moments of Decima getting what they needed: Samaritan itself during the bank heist and getting to Cyrus so they can steal that chip. Then Greer used Vigilance to expose Northern Lights, knowing that the government would have to shut down the program due to public outcry, putting him in a prime position to propose his newly acquired “Machine” to them so that he can get the NSA feeds to allow Samaritan to do its thing. About your comments about Greer in the end being an idiot. I very much disagree in that I believe he knows full well of what you are saying about letting an AI be in control. He has no intention of controlling or stopping it. If Samaritan concludes that all humans should die, I think Greer would be fine with that. Greer comes off to me as someone with a very cynical view of humanity. I think that becomes quite clear when you listen to his conversations with Finch. I find that last scene always so chilling. “Calculating response…” Onward to season 4 to see what an unrestrained ASI would do. The world has changed.
