Mike checked if the receiver shows the battery status - which it does - so if he would just have removed the battery they would have known that the device was found. So he used the radio to slowly drain the battery to make them switch out the tracker without raising suspicion.

Basically what he wanted to be paid on top of the cost for getting the transmitter for him from a place where the purchase wouldn't be traced. 3. Mike called him at 3 AM to make this deal, and he was less than pleased by it so he up-charged which I think is pretty fair.

2021-07-23 17:25:17 +0000 UTCYou're meant to know by now: black and white segments he's in hiding with a fake identity given by the vacuum guy post BB, like not pushing the alarm thing last season, he's absolutely terrified by the cops because he's on the run for being a business partner of the biggest meth dealer in US history. This not spoiler btw, we had him watching Better Call Saul ads with a tear in his eye, use a fake name, is older than we see in BB, is extremely paranoid and scared of the police so it's pretty much a given from the context that this is post BB. He also told walt as a joke '6 months from now, best case is I'm managing a Cinnanon in Omaha, I'm not your lawyer anymore', which is ironically exactly what he ends up doing.
