When you say "Arkadians", I assume you're talking about the Iconians from Star Trek? There are a few significant differences between "the bridge" and the Iconian Gateway technology, the most important one being that Iconian Gateways can go *anywhere*, while these anomalies from the 100 only connect to other planets with anomalies on them.

First contact done by pulling a gun on unarmed person is not the best approach, but as we saw, the other side is taking them, and they know things about them..how?..remember Diyoza and O went in before, and were taken to Bardo, and m-cap(memory capture)was mentioned..
