Black Key Incubus – Chapter 8 Cover Art

As promised, I'm working on the Chapter 8 Pages to post here for your consumption 🔥😈🔥

Starting with the Chapter 8 Cover Art, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this design. Daryl nailed this shit.

For this chapter, I wanted to develop Belphegor and Liam's dynamic a bit because they are going to play an increasing role in Cal's involvement with the Kai'ba and also his relationship with Norman.

Emphasis on the Liam side of things lol. 

This chapter was hard for me because after it was all done I felt like I had rushed some things. There were edits I wanted (and still want to) make, so I will post the chapter as-is (as it was originally intended) so you all can see the creation process, but also cuz I want your feedback! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this part.

The first image is the Cover Art version as included in print. I did this for the print versions of BKI Volume 1 for chapters 1-6. It's not that I didn't want to include the writing/illustrating credits, it just felt a bit nicer to have less clutter on the page. And as you can see in the comparison of these two images, for this artwork, the second image (the traditional chapter cover art version) it's hard to read the words "Written by/Illustrated by." So basically my option was either to remove the credits or to ad more of those colored sidebars to give the text a backdrop. I decided to post both options to show some design things I work on when making BKI content.

I'm kind of leaning towards the first option (without extra text and credits) and just posting the actual "written by/illustrated by" credits in the text of a physical post instead of on the image itself. I would hate to have to change anything about the artwork behind the credits.

Which do you guys like more?
