Untitled 002 - Incomplete Story

He was going to Beacon!
Jaune could hardly contain himself as the airship sailed through the sky. Ever since he could remember, he had wanted to be a huntsman. Was it any wonder when all of his sisters were huntresses or training to become huntresses? It was only natural that some of that rubbed off on him. It was his dream, a dream that he never thought he would ever realize. Not because he was lazy or too dumb, or because his parents disagreed – no, it hadn’t been any of that. To be a huntsman, to be a huntress, you required aura.
Men didn’t have aura.
At least, most men didn’t. For whatever reason, the majority of men just lacked that one crucial piece that allowed a person to go a step beyond their normal means. Jaune had believed he was no different. He had tried everything he could think of to unlock it in his childhood and nothing had worked. Even when his oldest sister Saphron had attempted to force it, it had failed. His dream had been just that; a dream. Through no fault of his own or anyone else, it was unobtainable.
But he had aura at last!
And not only did he have aura, he had a semblance!
His excitement quickly abated when he remembered just how he had gained his aura. His village had been attacked by Grimm and being who he was, he had tried to help. He may not have had aura but he did have training. You didn’t grow up with seven prospective huntresses and not learn how to fight, even if his future at the time had been to become some house husband. His sisters had been all too willing to help him learn. They knew the dangers of the world and understood that Grimm didn’t care if you were a man or woman, even if society did. They’d kill you all the same if it had the chance. Teaching him how to fight was an easy decision. Their parents hadn’t disagreed. As long as he kept up with his other duties, learning the things men were expected to provide for their future spouses, then there was no problem.
But there was a reason why those without aura didn’t fight the Grimm.
Saphron had gotten hurt trying to save him.
Jaune frowned.
He would never forget that. He would never forget the moment he had almost lost one of his sisters forever. The Ursa had been large and smart for its kind, attacking him from the rear when he was distracted dispatching a smaller Beowolf. She had almost not made it, shielding his body with hers. Seeing her blood had awoken something deep inside, something long chained and dormant. The feeling of his aura awakening reminded him of the rising sun, the warmth of a new day that settled deep in your bones and never left. Empowered, his sword had plunged deep into the bear Grimm’s flesh, ending its life swiftly.
Though the Ursa had died quickly, Saphron’s life had still been in the balance. That was when the true miracle had occurred. When he touched her, his semblance had activated. Before his eyes, her wounds had healed. Great rends in her flesh, sealed in moments until there wasn’t even a scar. Until she was as good as new.
He could amplify aura.
Men typically had semblances that leaned towards support and his was once such semblance. Aura could defend one’s body and heal one’s hurts, and amplifying that power was an ability that was clear in its usefulness. But aura wasn’t just used for defense. It increased your strength, your speed, even your reflexes. It allowed people to perform superhuman feats – and semblance was powered by aura.
He could amplify a person’s semblance. In theory, at least. They didn’t know the extent of his abilities but that was part of the reason he was traveling to Beacon. To learn and to train, to become stronger and find out just how far they could push his new found power. After Saphron had healed, she had gone on a rampage. Filled to the brim with newfound power, she had decimated the remaining Grimm with overwhelming force.
That was only a sample of what his semblance could do.
He found out later that it wasn’t just his touch that could activate his ability. He had gotten a little blood on his sister, from a cut that had healed when he activated his aura. It had still been wet upon his skin and according to the Headmaster, it had accelerated the scope of his semblance by several magnitudes.
It explained just why Saphron had been boosted as much as she had.
Meeting Headmaster Ozpin was a little surreal. He was a celebrity the world over, the most famous man in the world. He was someone that all little boys admired and aspired to grow up to be, someone capable of standing side-by-side with women and garnering the respect such a position deserved. He was the ideal, the outlier – a vision of what a man could be, if simply given the chance.
Jaune had been a little star struck.
Thinking back on that meeting made him feel embarrassed but what could you do? Ozpin was an important figure to men the world over. Getting a visit from such a person would render most a bundle of nerves. Though Jaune wished he had been able to do more than gape stupidly as the Headmaster offered him perhaps the greatest gift anyone could; a place at his school.
There had been no question about whether to accept or not. Jaune hadn’t bothered consulting his parents or his sisters. This was something he had wished for as long as he could remember existing. As soon as the offer had passed the older man’s lips, Jaune had accepted. Just like that, he was a student of Beacon.
He pinched his arm. The pain was sharp and he didn’t wake up. If he was hallucinating, it was certainly a powerful one.
As the ship he rode approached the school, he couldn’t help but wonder what sort of people his new teammates were. He was getting his own huntress squad, four young girls whom he would be bound to for however long this lasted. To train with, to look after, to help in battle when the time came. They would do everything together.
Jaune felt sick with anxiety. If anyone asked, he would blame motion sickness.
Being socially awkward sucked. It wasn’t that Jaune didn’t like meeting new people. It was just that it was so difficult not to make an ass of himself when he got nervous. As much as he dreamed about becoming a huntsman, there was an ease in having your entire life dictated for you. A lot of men didn’t even have to find their own wives. Everything was arranged by your parents or by genetic lottery, or by the choice of an interested woman. Having agency was a very different feeling than he was used to when it came to this stuff. They may only be teammates but Jaune knew how these sorts of things normally turned out. Everyone had heard the stories.
He just hoped they were nice.
Because not everyone was.
For every happy ending he had heard about, Jaune had heard just as many unhappy ones. He hoped that wasn’t what was in store for him.
His first glimpse of the school was awe inspiring, Jaune standing from his seat to approach the window. The sprawling grounds dominated the cliff atop which it sat, rolling lawns and stone pathways leading the way into the campus proper. The wide main avenue passed between a double-ring of colonnades, the path marked with trees and flag draped light poles. Passing beneath the arches, a moat-like water feature could be seen, fed by a series of fountains depicting various people in states of combat. Looming beyond that were the towering spires of Beacon itself, the largest of which contained a great green luminescence from within its arching stained windows; the beacon of which the school was aptly named.
Surrounding the school to the south and east, there was nothing but forest and mountains as far as the eye could see. To the north was a sea of red and orange waving in the wind, the famous Forever Fall that gained its name from the color of its leaves; a never ending autumn. Rivers encircled the school on all sides, flowing down from the mountains and over the cliff that overlooked Vale, cascading to the lake below and feeding the kingdom like veins from a beating heart. To the west was where the city lay, seated in the cradle of Sanus. The sky was so clear that Jaune could make out the island of Patch in the far distance, out to sea.
This was to be his new home. What a magnificent place.
When he disembarked, there was a woman waiting for him.
“Hello,” he greeted nervously, setting down his bags.
She’s beautiful, was his first thought, and really tall. Taller than I am. Green eyes studied him from behind thin, ovular glasses, her platinum blonde hair pulled back into a tight bun with the exception of a single ringlet bang that framed the right side of her sharp face. She wore a white long-sleeved, pleated top with a keyhole neckline, drawing attention to her impressive cleavage. Down below she wore a black form fitting high-waist pencil skirt with bronze buttons, accentuating her tight waist and shapely hips. Her choice of clothing was both professional and sensual, her perfect posture and severe expression only heightening her intimidating presence.
This was not the type of woman you wanted to cross.
“Welcome to Beacon Academy,” she returned coolly. “Jaune Arc, I presume?”
He nodded quickly. “Yes, ma’am.”
She studied him a moment longer before nodding, her lips twitching into a small smile. It was so brief that Jaune wondered if he imagined it.
“My name is Glynda Goodwitch. I am Deputy Headmistress of Beacon but you may call me Professor Goodwitch. The flight was uneventful, I hope?” she asked politely, gesturing for him to follow. He hurriedly picked up his bags and followed after her, trying not to stare at the way her sculpted ass shifted under the tight material of her skirt. Her stride was long and it took him a few seconds to match her speed.
“It was,” he replied, tearing his eyes off her to look around. The grounds looked even more beautiful now that he was no longer in the air. The scent of the nearby forest carried over in the wind, gifting the air an earthly, slightly damp feel that was relaxing and familiar. Pine and oak, like the land surrounding his village back home.
“As you know, the school year has already begun. We are currently in the second semester. You will be required to attend classes like every other student, though you will be provided extra lessons to catch up on your studies for that which you have missed considering the circumstances. A full schedule will be sent to you by the end of the day. Be sure to memorize it.”
In the distance, he could hear the muted sound of gunfire. As they walked, it became louder, alongside other sounds of combat. The clash of steel on steel was unmistakable.
“This is the cafeteria,” she gestured to a large rectangular building with large glass windows. “The library,” she pointed further on, the dome-like structure eye-catching. “And the amphitheater – as you can hear, this is where combat class and training takes place.”
The ground trembled as they passed by.
“If you ever have need of the Headmaster, his office is located in the highest tower. Headmaster Ozpin has an open door policy. He will see any student that wishes to speak, so long as he is not already otherwise occupied. Do not abuse it.”
He nodded even though she wasn’t looking his way.
They came upon a set of long buildings four floors high, each window containing a balcony. The brickwork was bright red, at odds with the gray stone of the rest of the school.
“This here is the student dormitory. First and second year students are housed in the one on the right, the third and fourth years on the left. Supporters and their teams stay elsewhere, however. This way, please.”
This was the first he was hearing about that.
“Where will we be staying?”
Glynda was more than happy to answer. “For those teams that have a supporter, there is a compound on the northern part of campus that is suited to their unique needs. The Headmaster informed you about the research you will be conducting, yes?”
Jaune nodded. They were to record everything about his semblance and the effects it had on his new team.
“You are housed separately to ensure your privacy and for the protection of the other students,” she explained. They were now passing through a courtyard ringed by a lush and thriving garden, filled with all manner of trees and plants. Colorful flowers were in full bloom, an array of different hues from violet to orange to bright blood red. The rich pollen in the area tickled his nose, inviting him to sneeze. “Something you might not know is that oftentimes, a supporter’s semblance can be quite unpredictable. There have been many occasions where powers have gotten away from their wielders and caused harm and injury.”
“Oh,” he said. He supposed it made sense. Little was known about the capabilities of male aura users. He could see how amplifying aura in his case could bring about some unintended consequences.
“The compound is equipped with state of the art technology in the field of aura science, as well as private training grounds and even a personal homestead for each team. You will sleep, eat and live the majority of the time here and only venture into the rest of the school for classes or your own entertainment.”
The path they traveled was long but well paved, bringing them around the back of the school. There were a series of stairs and they climbed the steep incline, Jaune hefting his bags up onto his shoulders. As they reached the top, he was greeted by the sight of a large stone wall and an iron gate.
The Deputy Mistress approached the gate and swiped her scroll over a panel on the wall. There was a loud click, the lock releasing and the gate swung open of its own accord. He followed her in and got his first look at where he would be staying.
Houses lined a wide path that spanned the entire length of the compound, eight in total. At the end of the lane, various buildings had been erected. Jaune had a feeling that they were where they would conduct their research. The place was completely silent, unlike the rest of the school. It made sense since everyone else was in class.
Glynda led him over to one of the houses, stepping up onto the porch before turning to face him. He straightened under her gaze, meeting her eyes.
“This is where I leave you,” she reached into her pocket and pulled out a scroll. “This is yours. Simply insert your sim card from your private device and it will import your information. This scroll will allow you access to this compound, as well as the research and training facilities here. It also contains your Beacon identification, recognizing you as a student of our institution and affording you all the benefits therein. Do you have any questions?”
“Um – when will I be meeting my team?”
Professor Goodwitch smiled. “Right now. They are waiting inside.”
Jaune felt his stomach twist. “O-Oh.”
“Good luck, Mr Arc – and don’t worry,” she brushed by him, patting his shoulder briefly before stepping down the steps. “Team RWBY are good girls. You will get along swimmingly.”
Jaune watched her leave until he could no longer see her, the iron gate swinging shut behind her. Then he turned to face the door, taking a steadying breath. Nerves and excitement warred together, anxiety threatening to make him turn tail and flee. He hesitated, his hands fisted by his side as he glared at the polished grain of the wooden door.
This was everything he had ever wanted. He wouldn’t turn back now.
Raising his hand, he paused. Then after another steadying breath, he knocked firmly. The door was wrenched open instantly, startling him. He took a step back and nearly tripped over his bags.
“Hi!” a young girl chirped, beaming at him brilliantly.
“Uh – hi,” he returned, trying to get his thumping heart under control. “Um – I’m here to meet my new team.”
The young girl bounced up and down, her unique silver eyes gleaming, “That’s me! Or – well, I’m one of them! My name is Ruby. Ruby Rose! I am the leader of Team RWBY!”
She was the leader? Jaune peered at her, taking in her short stature and incredibly cute face. She was wearing what he knew to be their standard uniform; a brown jacket over a tan vest, a white shirt with a red ribbon and a red plaid skirt. Beacon didn’t start accepting students until they were seventeen but she looked younger than that, though he couldn’t be sure by how much. Was she some type of prodigy?
“Uh, I’m Jaune,” he held out a hand. “Jaune Arc.”
Her hand was soft and warm as they shook hands, Jaune almost losing his arm in the process as she pumped it up and down furiously. Her teeth were perfectly straight and white, eyes scrunching up as she continued to smile at him. It was infectious and he smiled back.
“Hello! Oooh, I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long! We finally have a supporter!”
Ruby did a little twirl, her skirt flaring out and revealing the creamy skin of her absolute territory. Jaune tried not to stare but her stockings and skirt were very attractive on her lithe body, the subtle plumpness of her thighs highlighted by the slight bulge of skin where her stockings hugged her legs.
She was really, really cute!
“Well,” he coughed, opening his arms. “Here I am!”
He blinked in shock when she rushed into his chest and gave him a hug. She was a lot stronger than she looked. Her arms squeezed him like a vice, almost lifting him up off his feet. Jaune felt the air rush out of his lungs as she nuzzled her face against his chest, his cheeks burning.
“Um – Ruby?”
She gave him one last squeeze before stepping back. Her pale cheeks were red, a healthy pink hue that made her even cuter than before.
“Come on! The rest of the team is waiting inside!”
She bent down and grabbed one of his bags, skipping happily back into the house. Hesitating for a second, Jaune scooped up his other bag and followed, removing his shoes in the entryway.
The house was very nice, the floors hardwood as he made his way down the hall. From the rooms he peeked in as he passed them by, it was also well furnished. The lounge was carpeted with comfortable looking couches and a big screen television. The walls were a soft cream wallpaper, adorned with various paintings of the landscape around Beacon and Vale. The kitchen was modern with all the latest appliances; a stainless steel fridge, a coffee machine, a massive stove and oven and more. The dining room contained a large oak table and chairs with a sliding door that opened up into an outdoor seating area. That was where the rest of Team RWBY were waiting.
Meeting Ruby had settled his nerves a little bit but when he saw the three girls waiting, it spiked.
This was it.
“Guys!” Ruby called out as she stepped out onto the wooden deck. “He’s here!”
They stood as one and turned to face him – and Jaune was struck speechless.
“Hey!” the blonde waved, grinning at him cheekily. “The name is Yang. Yang Xiao Long. I’m Ruby’s older sister. Pleased ta meet cha!”
“Blake,” the black haired girl bowed, showing off her cat ears. “Blake Belladonna.”
The final girl stared at him silently, ice blue eyes drilling a hole through his face. Jaune waited for her to introduce herself but she just continued to stand there, face blank of all emotion.
“Uh – hi, hey. I’m Jaune. Jaune Arc. I’ll – uh, be joining you from today.”
Each of them were beautiful beyond compare and Jaune found it difficult not to stare at any one of them too long. He didn’t want them to think he was some kind of creep.
Yang had luscious blonde hair that fell across her shoulders and down her back in a golden wave, her face pretty and lilac eyes striking. She stood with confidence, shoulders square and chest out, highlighting her incredible bust. Even with the Beacon uniform doing its best to contain it, Jaune could see how blessed she was.
Blake held an exotic look, her amber eyes popping amongst her pale skin and straight black hair. It fell about her shoulders like a curtain of black silk, shimmering in the light of day. She was a faunus – Jaune hadn’t met many faunus, there were none where he came from and they only passed through his village sparingly, but her cat ears were the cutest thing he had ever seen. Unlike Ruby and Yang, she didn’t wear stockings and so her long, toned legs were on display. He drank in the sight before moving onto the final girl.
She still hadn’t spoken, seemingly content to stare at him and not much else. She was short, a little shorter than Ruby even. Her hair looked like spun silver, pulled into an odd sidetail that was endearing in its strangeness. Of all the girls, her face was the prettiest – features sharp, lips pink and plump, not a single feature out of proportion from the rest of them. Like Ruby, she was lithe and slender. Almost like a gust of wind could pick her up and steal her away. She held a regal bearing, an elegance to her posture that reminded him of a princess.
This was his new team.
It was a little overwhelming.
“Weiss,” Ruby scolded. “Are you going to introduce yourself or just stand there?”
The white haired girl momentarily broke eye contact with him to glare at her team leader before shifting her gaze back to him.
“My apologies,” she said, dipping into a picture perfect curtsy. “My name is Weiss Schnee. A pleasure to meet you.”
“Don’t mind her,” Yang nudged Weiss in the shoulder, throwing her off balance. “She is just a little star struck. She has a thing about supporters. You being here is making all her dreams come true. I hope you can live up to her expectations.”
She then winked at him.
“Yang Xiao Long,” Weiss said hotly, jabbing Yang in the stomach with a pointed finger and making the blonde girl yelp. “Don’t be such a cad! Jaune – I am sorry for my teammate. She is a bit of an idiot.”
“Hey,” said idiot complained while Ruby chortled. “Was anything I said untrue?”
Blake stepped forward while Yang and Weiss bickered, offering him a small smile.
“We were all very excited for your arrival,” she admitted. “We’ve all been trying really hard so the school would assign us someone but there have been a lack of candidates, so we’ve had to wait. I’m glad that we did.”
“What do you mean?” he asked, shifting as she leaned in close. Jaune inhaled her scent, lavender and honey with a hint of vanilla. She smelled so good.
“You’re very handsome,” she complimented with hooded eyes. At that moment, he felt like prey. She placed a hand on his chest, her nails raking down the material lightly as she pressed her soft breasts against his arm. “You’ll look after us, won’t you?”
“Er – of course,” he swallowed thickly as one of her fingers toyed with his collar. “That’s what I’m here for, right?”
Her smile was all teeth. “Yes, that’s right. You’re here for us. I’ll be your favorite, okay? You like faunus girls, right?”
Jaune had internally labeled Blake as the sensible, respectful one but he felt like he really needed to reevaluate that assumption. She was bolder and much more straightforward than he was expecting, her expression becoming much more animated as she leaned against him.
“I like hot baths in the evening, though our former room only had a shower. It was horrible. But now that we are here, we have a bath. You’ll run one for me later, won’t you? And then maybe you’ll join me?”
Yes, definitely bold. Jaune flushed slightly, imagining it; the heat of the water and the smooth slickness of her skin as he rubbed her down, lathering her beautiful body in soap. She wasn’t as endowed as Yang was but from what he could feel pressed against him, she was larger than Ruby and Weiss. She would look gorgeous, skin flushed with heat and moist with water, her hair pulled up into a bun to keep it dry.
Before he could answer, Ruby popped between them and forced Blake away. The smaller girl stood in front of him protectively, arms held wide.
“Hold it! I didn’t write up that schedule for nothing, you know!”
Jaune blinked, chasing away the fantasy that had taken hold in his brain. “Schedule?” he questioned.
Ruby grinned up at him over her shoulder. “These girls are really greedy so as team leader, I decided that we should have designated days where we get to make use of your skills. You know how to bake, right?”
At the intense look she leveled at him, he held up his hands. “Yeah – uh, I know how to bake.”
“Excellent!” she exclaimed. “We get to share you on the weekends and since you only just got here today, I thought you should relax until you get comfortable. So since it is Wednesday and there are only four of us, you can have that day for yourself. Thursday is my day – I get to go first because I’m the team leader!”
Blake grumbled but didn’t complain.
“Then Blake can have Friday,” Ruby continued, ignoring the black haired faunus. “Yang gets Monday and finally, Weiss is on Tuesday. She’ll be a little intense so I thought she should go last so you can prepare yourself.”
What exactly were these girls going to make him do? At the sound of their names, Yang and Weiss had stopped arguing and were now listening to Ruby lay out the ground rules of whatever this was. Yang nodded, seemingly satisfied with what her younger sister had come up with but Weiss didn’t look impressed in the slightest.
“Why do I go last?” she demanded, crossing her arms. “I have the best grades out of all of us therefore I should reap the benefits of our supporter first.”
“Well I have the biggest rack here,” Yang preened, thrusting her chest out even further. “So he’ll want to pamper me first, right?”
Weiss scoffed angrily. “What does your fat chest have to do with anything? My scores ensured that the professors could no longer overlook our team.”
Yang’s eyebrow twitched. “Want to run that by me again, little girl?”
A thin white eyebrow arched condescendingly. “Do you have fat in your ears as well? What I said wasn’t difficult to understand.”
The two girls looked ready to exchange blows and Jaune wondered if the other two would step in. Instead, Blake simply rolled her eyes while Ruby told them to take it to the training ground. So that is what they did. Without so much as a goodbye, the two marched off into the backyard and beyond some well maintained hedges.
“Er – are they going to be alright?” he asked.
“They’ll be fine. They’re always having little fights like that,” Ruby looked utterly unconcerned. “There is a small area back there for training, if you ever get bored and want to blow off some steam. When we practice as a group, there is a facility up the street that will monitor our progress with your semblance.”
“Right.”
“So,” Ruby clapped. “Do you have any questions?”
He did. He had so many questions that he didn’t know where to start.
“I don’t really understand this schedule thing,” he admitted. “Aren’t I meant to help all of you, at all times?”
“Oh, yeah – you’re always all of ours, don’t worry. This is just when we are allowed to monopolize your time,” she beamed at him. “Some one-on-one bonding, that sort of thing. That’s all. Otherwise, Weiss would be hounding you everyday and wouldn’t let the rest of us get any time with you.”
It sounded like he was an object – and he was, at least according to the society they lived in. Now that he had aura, he was considered above that of the average man and gained benefits that they didn’t but that didn’t change how women saw and interacted with his gender. Maybe it should have bothered him but he had grown up with this expectation, it was all he had ever known.
This was just seen as normal.
“Is she really that bad?” he asked. “Weiss, I mean. She seemed nice.”
Ruby shrugged. “I didn’t know this before this morning but apparently she has this whole delusion about a prince charming supporter – that’s you, by the way – sweeping her off her feet and stealing her away. I guess it makes sense – her family isn’t the greatest. She is normally a very level headed girl but she can be very greedy about things that she wants.”
“She might look like a sweet little doll,” Blake added with a grin. “But she can be very obsessive when it comes to certain things.”
Ruby peered at her team mate. “Sure you aren’t talking about yourself?”
“I-I have no idea what you mean,” Blake denied, looking away.
“Should you have told me all that?”
Ruby gave him a curious look. “Told you what?”
“About – you know, her... about sweeping her off her feet and stuff,” Jaune said, not wanting to use the word delusion. That sounded a little mean. “And her family... that seems kinda private.”
She just shrugged. “It’s fine. You’ll find out about it soon enough, anyway. Weiss won’t mind.”
Jaune somehow doubted that but didn’t question it. These girls had been together for over half a year already while he was only just meeting them. They’d know what they could and couldn’t say about the other much more than he would.
“So, where am I sleeping?”
“I can show you the way,” Blake said quickly.
“We can show you,” Ruby butt in. “Then we’ll let you rest – right, Blake?”
Blake sighed. “Right.”
All in all, Jaune thought their first meeting had gone rather well. As Ruby and Blake showed him his room, he could hear shouts and screams coming from the backyard as Weiss and Yang vented their frustrations. There would be much more of that in the future, he knew. He was just happy to finally be there.
He was going to be a huntsman!
