Hiatus until May

Hey everyone,

I’m going to be on hiatus until the end of April. This means that Patreon will be on hold and my store will be in maintenance mode starting at the end of February. All outstanding orders will be shipped when I get the required merch to ship them (still waiting on a pin restock to arrive). February Patreon Hiatus

Hey everyone!

My winter convention season has ended and I’m finally able to take a breather. I’ve been a bit quiet here due to nonstop work and restocking between cons so I wanted to quickly say that my Patreon will be on hiatus for February so I can catch up on work and obligations. If anything gets made in February, it’ll be posted in March. You will not be charged for the month if you stay pledged in February.

Hi everyone!

2024 has finally crept its way up and Mickey Mouse is public domain now. I'm not going to be drawing any Mickey Mouse art but I hope you guys have fun getting political with it if you do.

really liking the way the hatching looks, I'm doing my best to complete pieces and not overwork them, something I'm way too guilty of. 

Also learned a bit more about how to digitize my watercolors, including what to do to make them look crisp and what to avoid. If this is of any interest to others, I can do a little write-up about it.

gotta go pick up some blenders from the art store but I'm making good progress on this! really starting to feel like I have control over my traditional techniques again. 

I used hot press paper for this but I'm not completely sold on it. It was super nice texture-wise for the colored pencils but it bloomed like nobody's business when I tried to lay down watercolors. Will have to do more tests probably.

first attempt at doing mixed media watercolor! technically I was already doing a mixed media approach beforewith ink but that's basically the same thing as watercolor. This time is with colored pencil to get a more textured effect. Going to pick up some hot press paper and see if I like that more, I think cold press has a lot of tooth which I'm not sold on yet.

trying something new. really want to mesh the way I paint traditionally and digitally together better. I think having access to an undo button and the ability to keep iterating until it's perfect has made me a lot less loose when I paint digitally so I'd like to remedy that a little. We'll see how this goes!

kidlit portfolio series

apologies for the radio silence, I've been contacting agents and getting a kidlit portfolio together. Children's illustration is something I've been interested in for a while and I figured why not give it an actual shot. Still in the process of finishing up the remaining few pieces in the portfolio but I painted this series of three related images that I like a lot.
