As part of yesterday's Resident Evil showcase event, Capcom confirmed that Village will receive a timed demo that will restrict players to 60 minutes of gameplay, and will be available for just 24 hours. PlayStation players will also get special early access to two additional 30-minute demos, which can be preloaded from today.
- Yesterday's showcase had a lot of things to be excited about. The series' beloved Mercenaries mode will return in Village after being absent for quite a while, and it'll be first-person this time around. Speaking of which, Resident Evil 4 will be going first-person (kind of) when it releases on Oculus Quest 2 sometime in the near future.
Ubisoft announce digital E3 showcase event
Ubisoft's next Forward showcase will be held on June 12th as part of this year's all-digital E3. The event kicks off at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST and, while Ubisoft haven't detailed what they'll be showing off, it'd be nice to see if any of the dozens of Assassin's Creed rumours kicking about online have any truth to them.
- Ubisoft's 2020 show "generated historic viewership" when it went all-digital for the first time following E3's cancellation, so it's little surprise they're back for round two. It'll be interesting to see what an all-digital E3 will look like - it certainly has the publisher support but everything also seemed to go perfectly well last year without the main show.
CD Projekt Red post massive profits for 2020
CDPR's preliminary financial reports have revealed that the Polish studio brought in $562.5m in revenue and $303.5m in net profit during 2020. CDPR will release their full year-end report next week, however, so actual figures after auditing could be a little different.
- It's no surprise that CDPR had a bumper year last - Cyberpunk 2077, for all its myriad issues, sold 13m copies right out of the gate as part of one of the most successful RPG launches in history. This commercial success likely did nothing for the initial impressions of the game, and the studio's stock has been taking a beating ever since launch, but CDPR have pledged to put things right.
That Outriders inventory wipe bug may finally be fixed
A bug that erases all a player's hard-earned gear is hardly a good thing in any game, but it could genuinely be a killing blow for a professed looter shooter like Outriders. Luckily, the team look to have finally fixed the issue that's been plaguing their game for a few weeks.
- Devs People Can Fly took to Twitter to detail a new patch - which is actually live now - to deal with the dreaded issue once and for all. In addition, the team will be trying hard to recover the inventories of those players that lost them. While not 100% guaranteed, it's certainly nice to see devs trying so hard to address the entire issue.
