The Demon Thrones Series: Super Saiyan Orias

Today, I bring you guys something truly epic: Orias at the pinnacle of his power. Orias is one of the more subdued characters in Cryopod Refresh. He first appears as little more than a cameo in Chapter 1, and his actions and appearance are extremely vague. I plan to fix this VERY soon in the upcoming HFY re-releases, so keep an eye out for that. Seriously, we're almost there, so it will happen this week.

Orias is one of the cooler demons, in that he uses a completely unique power system. Unlike the angels and other demons who use boring stuff like mana, Orias's powers come from gems! Diamonds, Sapphires, Rubies, and all the others allow him to obtain different elemental powers based on their color. The downside is, the amount of power he can use is limited in duration to only a few minutes, and his power output is determined by the size of said gem.

Orias really only has two fight scenes throughout all of Chapters 1 and 2. I would have liked to give him a top-tier one during his initial appearance in chapter 1, but at that time, I had no clue what I would do with his powers. I had already decided to call him the Baron of the Stars. However, other than a vague image of "using stars to create magical power(??)" I didn't know what to do with him, and thus, I shelved his character until he reappeared in chapter 2.

However, once Kratsas, Cryopod's most influential beta reader, suggested using gems (or something to that effect, I don't recall the exact conversation), my ideas shifted for Orias. I finally created a fitting backstory, powerset, and character motivation for him to use moving forward.

Better yet, his original title, Baron of the Stars, becomes more metaphorical once I figured out how his powers would work. In this case, "stars" meant shiny objects in the sky, and what else can be counted as shiny objects? That's right! Gems!

Orias possesses more latent power than basically any other demon, aside from possibly Satan himself. His diverse ability-set grants him the power to go toe to toe with any of Cryopod's mightiest denizens. Only in the future will we learn what his actual limits are.
