Per request: Render rig parts

Got asked in the comments to make a texted list with parts of my render rig. Even better I'll just printscreen the order list.

What's not in this list is the aluminum profiles for the rig. As mentioned in the video they come from RatRig and if you're interested in having a detailed build instruction for it I'd be happy to do so, though it's incredibly straight forward.

NOTE: One thing I learned with this build, that I never cared about before, is to always check the motherboards QVL list for what memories are supported, ESPECIALLY when having 128gb ram as it's quite unusual. If you order memories that are not in the mobo's QVL support list, it simply might not work.

2090?

Yeah as far as I know, only performance loss in riser cables are compilation times, but should not affect actual rendering time :.-)

I wrote this comment before looking at your next video where you showed only three Gpus in the rig. I m using two 3090 with Nvlink and it s working great so far. I thought that using Pcie extenders would make you lose performance... but those rigs look interesting.

I don't, I bought 4 cards but since my motherboard only could handle three, I put the fourth one in my laptop egpu. So 1600 is powering 3x 2090 and it comsumes about 1300w at full load :)

how can you provide enough power for four 3090 with a PSU of only 1600W?

Good idea, give me a minute! :-)

Have you tried to run Marvelous Designer?

Yes very true. I certainly wouldn't recommend having these GPU's in a rig that is placed in the same room as ourselves. They cool very well but sound like a jet airplane. :D

I think it's also good to mention that these graphics cards make a LOT of noise when using them full throttle. I have three of them and I ended up water cooling all of them because of the noise.

Thanks for the listing. I'm thinking of revamping my render server. Is one PSU enough for the 4 3090s?
