TL;DR:
As long as my Patreon page is paused, new subscribers can’t join and access the existing content, and I get a lot of requests to open it again. So to let them subscribe, I’m reopening Patreon, BUT it might take a little more while until I can start uploading new content. So if you don’t want to get charged the Patreon fee while waiting for new content, I strongly suggest that you end your pledge, and if you wish you can res...

Hi guys.
You might have seen in the beginning of my previous post that I had resumed work on a short movie we started on a few years ago but shelved pretty quickly.
It'll be a metric TON of work, but I'm really looking forward finally diving into something serious.
As a way to keep the fire burning, I'll use Patreon not only as a way to record tutorials etc which I will continue with, but I'll also use it for blog-like text-based posts about the progress of this project.&n...

This video took a while to make. It's a run-down of my 3D Symposium presentation which has been a high request for Patreon, however, in this video I'm diving deeper into the topics than I did in the original presentation.
A lot of it is things that I've been talking about to various degrees on Patreon before, but some of it is also things that I've never covered previously.
With this video I want to thank all of you who have been with me on Patreon throughout this year...

Hey guys. As per request, here's the scene file for the airplane scene. Sadly I had to remove the HDRI and the wing, but I replaced it and it's still looking fairly good. Well, except the 1-sided plane wing that is. The scene also includes a LUT, I actually didn't use a LUT in the animation as I did the grading in DaVinci, but since I'm not sharing the DaVinci file here, you get a LUT instead :-)
Anyway, do with it what you want. I have more content coming up in the coming days!

Yes, animations can be a pain. When a client ask about animations, you start worrying about how long it will take you to render it.
Here's a neat little trick to reduce your rendertime almost 10x with ALMOST the same quality.

As explained in the video, I've been wanting to try to edit renders the same way I edit photos; in Lightroom. Had some troubles with it, and still do, but it works pretty well.
Here's a video of building this airplane window view in 3Ds Max + FStorm + Lightroom from start to finish.

Hi guys.
Let me apologise, I scheduled this video to be posted quite a while ago actually, but something went wrong and I didn't notice until now.
Anyway, here it is and I hope it's useful!

Hey,
I was asked to make a video on how we added the bottom half of the HDRI's (ground) to HDRI's that were missing it, for example CG-Source.
Here's a fast but very efficient way to do it. Just make sure you get the exposure right otherwise it might look awefully wrong.

Hi guys,
I know this video should've been made two years ago, but... here it is.
This is not an in-depth tutorial because the main techniques here have been shown in other videos (linked below) so I was hoping I could condense it into a short video like this. If you still want a step-by-step making of this scene, I'm happy to do so, though I have a few other things on my mind.

Hey guys,
So sorry for the posting mess-up, thank you all for your patience. Here's the first small series of videos I wanted to do for August, and I have a few more I want to do before moving on to "official september content".
It'll be a busy month but I'll do my best to fill it with useful content.

Hey guys. This video is actually not for this Patreon page. And it's really intended for being public, but we're still designing the intros and outros so for now, we'll just share it on Patreon. Since it exists, I might just as well share it here too. If it helps someone, that's fantastic!
The rust texture is a little something that Martin is sharing on the Texture Supply Patreon page.

Here's probably the last video in the mustang series, night scene with FStorm Volumetrics. The approach is a bit more conceptual, not my proudest creations in any way but hopefully the video will convey some know-how that you can use in your own projects.

Finally some rendering time 😍
I'm very happy with how this is coming out, and making this video also reminded me of why I love FStorm so much. also how easy it is to work with FStorm. Just a few clicks and BAM, it looks great!
In this video I wasn't building the scene up from scratch but I didn't feel it would be necessary as it's so simple. Instead I'm showing all the important bits, from lighting to balancing colors etc, and I'll be sharing all the assets and the scene file...

Sorry guys, I'm not really happy with this video. Not that the result wasn't good, but because I didn't really know what I was doing and it feels like the video is twice as long as it needs to be. Feel free to scrub it through.
Also, in the next video I'm actually deleting all the decals from the textures again so if you're actually following these videos yourselves, you can completely skip that part if you wish.
Anyway, doesn't feel like we're making much progress on the Must...

Making the windshield materials, headlights, plastics and interior (sort of). Some stuff left to do but we're almost ready to start setting up an exterior scene.
On the link below you will find the LUT I made for these images:

Let's make the car paint material!
Let me know if you have any questions, I know I screwed up a bit having the RT window outside of the record area so I did follow my own video and rendered out some stills to show what the result looked like in the RT.

I actually recorded the whole process of modelling the Cobra rim as well. Not narrated though so I sped it up a bit. If it's useful, that's great.
Now time to continue with the actual images!!!

Here's a video modeling a rim. I thought I'd use this rim first, but realized that I wasn't pleased with the looks and then modeled the original Shelby Cobra rim instead.
Yet it's recorded so I might as well share it even it's not going to be used.
