Diablo and Lucifer, the Emperors of Annihilation and Providence.

 MWTX dropped a new art update, today! As usual, he's having lots of problems getting access to internet in Venezuela, but the new PC is doing wonders for him. Thanks to the five people who donated over $250, we really appreciate it!

Today's characters are Diablo and Lucifer. Diablo's character design has been solidified since the beginning of Refresh, but I was never really all that satisfied with his wife.

Above is the previous design MWTX made. It's honestly not the worst thing ever, but it's also not very realistic, and you have to wonder what a good-looking guy like Diablo would see in her.

This image here is the original design. It was even worse, and will also be the image MWTX is going to rework next. Lucifer's design was just really generic, and the Hellhound she's riding atop was also very unrealistic.

The thing about Lucifer and Diablo is that their influence in Cryopod Refresh goes much deeper than in Classic. For one thing, Lucifer was a male demon in Classic... a shadow-walker of some sort who got his ass thumped by Satan and ended up dead in a ditch. Totally boring, no redeeming qualities. Meanwhile, I don't think Diablo had any presence in the story at all. I barely even remember him. He may not have been there at all.

In Refresh, Lucifer is a female Emperor whose powers and actions have huge consequences for Cryopod's entire universe, as we will continue to find out throughout the series. As the demon who created monsters, hellhounds, and who transferred Agares' transformation powers to other demons, she single-handedly improved the fighting power of Hell more than any other characters combined.

Diablo, meanwhile, possesses incredible attack power, even moreso than Bael and Belial. However, his strength takes time to build up, and unleashes all at once. He lacks finesse. After transforming into the Archdemon, he becomes the ultimate godlike entity of mass destruction; capable of annihilating both friend and foe.

Later in the story, Lucifer eventually adopts two young orphan demons after rescuing them from the clutches of the humans. These demons are Gressil and Ose, two main players in the Jason Era of Cryopod Refresh.

Of course, the readers don't yet know all the links Ose and Gressil share with Lucifer, nor the reasons Gressil ended up fused with his mother, but all these things will be revealed in due time.

The list of Lucifer's effects on Cryopod's storyline are quite extensive, and they will only continue to expand. Expect more artwork about her in the future.
