Rockstar eye more singleplayer GTA Online content
GTA Online's recent Cayo Perico Heist was a fresh approach to the game's heist design as it allowed players to complete it solo for the first time - and Rockstar say they'd like to do similar things in future.
- Rockstar North Design Director Scott Butchard told GQ that the studio are "keen to carry forward" these singleplayer elements, as a means to offer a more rounded enjoyable experience to players - whether they are playing alone or in groups with friends.
That Duke Nukem music lawsuit has been settled
Last year, Robert Prince filed a lawsuit against Gearbox over the the use of music in the 2016 Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition - alleging that his original agreement was with 3D Realms and Gearbox did not own all the rights like they believed they did.
- The argument was a messy one with quite a few elements in play, but Prince this week announced that the matter is "resolved." Prince didn't go into a lot of detail, but he did mention that the terms of his deal with Gearbox allowed his music to remain on the special anniversary edition - so there's that.
Doug Bowser says Nintendo Switch is "halfway" through its lifespan
Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser recently sat down with Polygon to talk all things Nintendo, and the subject of the much-rumoured Switch Pro came up - but Bowser wasn't for giving anything away.
- Bowser says that, at almost four years old, the Switch is in the middle of its life cycle - and (along with the Switch Lite) is still carrying decent momentum. Bowser doesn't feel like there's any pressing need to replace strongly-performing hadware.
Xbox Game Pass could be getting a family membership option
Responding to a fan query on Twitter, Xbox Boss Phil Spencer confirmed that a Spotify-like family membership for Xbox Game Pass is "something we'd like to do" - building on the ability for multiple family members to use the same console.
- Xbox Game Pass has been huge for Xbox recently, and it looks like it'll only get bigger as the Xbox Series X|S get more established, so making subscriptions more accessible families could be another solid move.
