Photogrammetry pt. 4

This video was supposed to be split into two parts just like the previous two, scanning and generating mesh with Reality capture in the first video, and zBrushing and finalizing the model in the second video.

However along the way I realized Reality Capture makes things so incredibly quick for us that there was no reason to split this into two videos.

Please let me know if you think I've left something out, and if you're having problems doing your own scans, hit me up and I'm happy to assist in any way possible.

No, with these camera setting it won't pick up much of the ambient light anyway :)

Quick tip when you polygroup by mask, hit Ctrl+W so you don't need to scroll all the way down to that giant menu :D.

Did you turn all other lights off when shooting the photos (environment light?)

RC is definitely my choice to go for more or less all scans right now as it just goes faster to process. Afaik you can get better texture quality with Metashape but it also takes a lot more manual work and it's just not worth it. The end result will be epic regardless :-)

No, sorry I should have covered this. you're not actually paying for the export, but rather the "right to use the photos". So if you would reuse the same photos in a new scene and a new process, it will be free of charge. You basically pay for the right to use the photos in a scan and once they are licensed you can process and export as many times as you like. :)

Do you have a preference of RC vs Metashape? Do you choose one or the other for certain scenarios? Thanks for these videos!

Hi Johannes...I have one question regarding the second export from Reality Capture. with the textures...Are you double charged for this export or it's complimentary as is the same scan file before exported?
