So I was just informed by a very dear Patron of mine that someone is uploading my Patreon content on CGpeers under the name VipUzer.

At least the guy was kind enough to link my Patreon page in the description, but do I really have to say that I DO NOT appreciate that my Patreon exclusive content is being uploaded there, or anywhere else for that matter.

It's disrespectul not mostly to me, but to all my Patrons who are here for a reason. Knowing that my content ends up there, I'm suddenly forced to be a lot more careful with what I upload to Patreon as it might be sensitive stuff sometimes when I talk about clients or money. I've already deleted a couple of videos now because of it.

Additionally, it can really kill my motivation and joy of doing this, and if it continues I might at some point lose interest in running a Patreon page. I do very, very much appreciate all the people who are here with me, but I am not depending on Patreon financially and if I don't think it's fun anymore, there would really be no reason to continue.

Please, whoever you are, thank you for your 8 dollars but please respect the work that I do and above all, respect all the other Patrons who are here to support. Don't fuck this up for everyone else.

I think we can all agree this sucks big time. If it helps, I'm sure most people who earn their living as a 3D artist are happy to pay for the subscription on Patreon anyway. If you take me for example, I love your work and content but barely have time to go through it. Additionally I work with Cinema and Octane Render so there are probably more reasons to not spend money on the monthly subscription. For me it's your personal insights and feedback you give/seek on different matters not just the content. I imagine if I was working on an indoor scene and fail to get a certain detail right after hours and hours of trying, you'd be able to point me to the right direction. This in combination with the occasional video I watch and the access to project files is well worth the money. I'm certain the percentage of people who pirate your content and actually work with it or use it in a commercial sense is absolutely slim. If they do they will check out your Patreon anyway and might get a subscription after all. If I were you I'd check them 3D sites in a daily or weekly routine and contact the online hosters to get your files removed. In the mean time try to keep calm and don't let this ruin you Mojo. It's offered on pirate sites because your quality speaks for itself.

Sorry to hear that. actually it's about one year that I do less in CG industry bcs of these ppl. they ruin every motivation for us. and it's so sad when I hear this from u that you are one of the best in this industry in my opinion. you are so big-hearted to share these content and I hope the best for u.

It's a very unethical thing to do. Not sure why people would do that. You are offering great knowledge at almost no price. Still there are people who would always try to get things for free. Whatever I have learned so far about fstorm and even about visualization is from here only. Most people like me have not subscribed just to get the content but also to support you for doing this wonderful job. I understand this is discouraging and demotivating but please don't let down yourself and your goals because of someone's stupidity. We love your content and will continue to support you no matter what.

Even if now I know that I could dowload Johannes`s content for free somewhere else, I would never do it. Sometimes I dont even get into patreon for 2, 3 months, but I´m still happy for paying it. It is not just about paying for knowledge, it is about supporting a wonderful project. I´ve learn so much from it and I´m really sorry for hearing that. That´s sad.

It is super sad, man! I'm very upset to ear things like that. I can just know that I very much appreciate your work here and it really helps a lot, in terms of technical skills but of course in terms of motivations. I really hope that this can't ruin this amazing project and you keep sharing your knowledge here. Maybe sharing stuff personally with patreons, with some markers on the screen that identifies the user can avoid pirates acts.

I'm not looking to punish anyone, but it would be inevitable that it would feel pretty pointless of trying to evolve a Patreon page if everything I do end up for free for the whole world. I love running this page and I've always had the intention of making it bigger and be able to spend more time on it, and that intention has not change because of some pirated videos. But if this becomes a recurring thing, it would certainly be very demotivating.
