The Plan! Week of 17th Feb 2020
Added 2020-02-21 12:12:22 +0000 UTCFirst, the reason why this post is going up on Thursday. I've been feeling a bit unwell. There had been a few colds & flus going around the office over the last few months, and I got most of them. I think a combination of that + stress has just led to me being ran down, but I am seeing a doctor on Monday. Thankfully we've been ahead of schedule, so this shouldn't impact content much unless any further action is needed.
Warcraft
Well, we've had both Medivh and the corruption video go up this week! I'm really happy with both of them. Getting into a classic lore video is just lovely. While corruption isn't the most joyous video in the universe, I felt very strongly about making it. Finally, for this week, the news will cover the Shadowlands Alpha chatter.
For next week, we should have TBC episode 1. As I mentioned earlier, there are sicknesses going around, and one of those has hit our WoW editor, so there's a chance that might have to be delayed. Anyway, TBC is in the works! I'll be recording episode 2 and 3 next week.
I'm also considering a video about how we've been 'here' before. Essentially comparing the WoD & BFA situations and talking about how we've arrived here, and how we can positively move forward.
Lore wise, we're working on the cosmos video, and I'm beginning research for an Etherial video. Perhaps you've noticed etherial hanging out in Horrific visions. I wonder what's going on there ;)
News
It's been an interesting week. We were unfortunately slow on covering a few stories - most notably Sonic & the PS5 production costs. After reflection, we noticed that we were too focused on writing evergreen content when we could have been doing news reports, so this week, we've focused a little more on striking while the iron is hot.
Starcraft Ghost was great to see - a somewhat positive story that's focused on a video game looking quite cool, and it's an interesting development story. Wolcen is another interesting one, being a case of a game's launch being so strong that it falls over. Well, that plus the discussion of viral marketing.
Evergreen content is still going strong for us, though! We're working on a video about the resurgence of C-RPGs, punishment in games, rising production costs in games, and redemption stories. In a similar vein, we're also considering more extensive series looking into interesting games. Right now I'm thinking along these lines. "The Evolution Of" "The Death of ""The Comeback of ". That wouldn't be the actual Title format for YouTube, but that's the type of content that I'd be. More in-depth looks into interesting stories, and more opportunities to cover the good shit.
Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading!
