Bad News Everyone

Bad news everyone, the skate decks were a failure. I lost money on the endeavor. I'll break down some basic numbers.

17 Skate Decks Ordered x $60each = $1,020
Boxes = -$63.01
Skate Deck Test Print = -$62.03
Ordering Skate Boards = -$488.73
Packaging Material = -$71.01
Shipping = -$493.85

In total, after the person from the post office was kind enough to fudge some numbers to bring shipping down, I lost about $158.63. Which isn't a lot. I know where I can definitely change some things and get better shipping prices. The packaging material was actually a good deal where I have 3 rolls of bubble wrap. I only needed to use one roll. So I can do skate decks again and not have as large of a cost for packaging material. Boxes will need to be more expensive at $110 in order for the shipping cost to go down more. And shipping depends on state, but if I can get the boxes small enough, then I should save a couple hundred on shipping.

With all that said, if I do the Elaine Demitasse Monster High OC skate deck, it will need to be somewhere around $80-$100 each. Which is really upsetting given that I don't like charging prices that high. But I wanted to break down how much it'll be if I go for round two.

But, the skate decks that were pre-ordered are now signed and shipped. I hope everyone who got one enjoys them. I hope to be able to do more merch drops like this in the future. This was a learning experience for me, and I know how to do better next time.
