Okay honestly lmk if I’m crazy but for the mother daughter no kids story I feel there’s both things they need to unpack. Her reason for not wanting kids is related to her own trauma growing up which she’s clearly in a different position. Dual incomes married like it’s not going to be the miserable selfless life she’s imagining. I’m not saying she should have them if she doesn’t want to I just thought that should be worth pointing out that the reason she’s doesn’t want to isn’t even in play

It could be my own biases but the picture that came to my mind was her doing everything cleaning cooking working taking care of the kid and then being rightfully annoyed with him. And him and her future kids laughing at mom together saying how she is so crazy.

The moment the babe came out and my husband was the one to tell me the sex of the baby was such a special moment. I can say I honestly loved that part of my pregnancy. So there is hope and positive stories!!!

We had a horrible relationship and she put me through conversion therapy sessions with her pastor. When I left for college, got into a long term relationship, and realized I could just not answer her phone calls, my mom went into a deep depression and eventually had to be put on SSRIs. It’s odd to me because she genuinely hates that I’m gay but then acted like that once I left? I’ve grown so much resentment and I fear she’s going to have a psychotic break like that when I get engaged/married.

Seeing my baby come out in the mirror they gave me was the most empowering experience and I was elated when that sweet girl was laid on my chest!

It was my first baby and I got her out in 10 pushes 17 min. My mom is a labor and delivery nurse and because I delivered at her hospital she got to do most of my checks and all the post labor things with the baby.

When I was first starting my periods (I was maybe 10 or 11), I snapped at my mom and got a verbal wallop like this dude just dealt. It made me very self-aware. Now I keep a tight leash on my temper, and I make sure to apologize to my husband for my edginess. Most of the time he says he didn’t even notice me being snappy. This lady has no excuse to be rude/mean to her husband. Him snapping at her could just be the wake up call she needs

I’ve been pregnant twice, the first one ended with me literally dying for a minute (developed eclampsia and had multiple seizures and then stopped breathing) second pregnancy was ectopic, and I ended up needing to have emergency surgery on Father’s Day where I lost a fallopian tube. My mom every chance she gets brings up how I shouldn’t give up, I also live in a very red state where they are arguing how close to death a woman needs to be in order to be granted a medically necessary abortion. Idk how to explain it to her that with my history and the way our country is, it’s literally not safe for me to have a kid. Still she tells me I’ll regret it when I’m old not having kids. Like I wants kids but I don’t want to die while trying to have them.

But with my second I went into labor early at 36 weeks and I got the epidural which was magic and I was taking a nap and the nurse came in to turn me and my baby wasn’t on the monitor anymore and she’s like I can’t find him and then she looked and he was born! It’s called born in the bed I think. She just plopped him on my chest and I was like what’s happening. I felt nothing.

The reason many of us are so hyper critical of ourselves (evolutionarily speaking) is because if you are really mean to yourself, you will make SURE you don’t eff up, if that makes sense. It’s your brains way of making sure you won’t put yourself at risk. As someone with anxiety & depression, it’s been helpful to realize that my anxious thoughts are often times simply out of fear & my body just going a little over board in trying to protect me, even when it isn’t necessary. There’s a lot more to this as well but just thought I’d share!!! So happy to talk psych any time heheheh

I'm not saying the girls were right but bullying is when someone is intentionally seeking out to hurt, belittle, bother, etc. someone else. Those absolutely weren't their intentions and they didn't really owe him an apology. It's insane an adult is letting something so small affect his job and life.

Worked until 3 days before birth. I was in labour 18 hours start to finish and my baby made it all so so worth it. I mean none of it was comfortable at the time but my daughter is so worth every single second

You may get a calming feeling once you’re ready to conceive and have the baby in your belly because you know it’s gotta come out one way or another. I think there is a birth story podcast available too it’s Australian but the stories are still the same as the US I would assume, similar standard of health care just one free and the other not

That’s why I opted for the shower bc you’re not fully emerged and it won’t mess with your contractions!

2024-05-25 19:44:09 +0000 UTCMy experience, the most painful part was contractions, pushing the baby out was the better part because you were pushing through the pain. 2 kids completely drug free, breathing is key and moving around. Second child complete inducement and first kid hooked up to oxytocin drip for a little bit. However everyone is different. And complications happen or pain is different. I did feel scared for years and years but you do forget it. Definitely feel so amazing afterwards. Toddler stage is worse than child birth hahaha

I pushed 4 times and only for 16 minutes. The only thing that hurt were the contractions before hand. The actual pushing relieved the pain. Also, I gave birth naturally and would do it again after having that experience. All the pain endured was instantly forgotten when I held my baby. One big help during labor was the shower. It took away nearly all the pain of contractions 💓 If/when you have kids… you’ve got this!!

I had a hysterectomy at 42, no kids , my mom has other grandkids and still has a hard time telling people or talking about it ..I also don’t think the mom did what she did as a manipulation, the reaction that mom had was a total mental illness…
