January Bonus Story #2

This story is coming from an upcoming theme The power of truth/When do you keep lying? (I'm stuck on a name still lol). But have you ever dealt with someone, say a partner, being embarassed by something you do?

Comments

I lived in my car when I was 16 got a GED and met my boss at a super bowl party in 2007 she interviewed me right there and I was in a government job 3 months later with her as my boss. I worked with her for 10 years and a company take over happened and another partner company took me on. I do general records and documents

Amanda

Late to the party cause I only just joined Patreon. But I (based in the UK) went to school until 16, did a year of college and then started working. I'm mid 30s now and working in Corporate and Commercial finance, my husband is part time and runs his own business (he also "only" did college). We're comfortable and happy and not "highly educated" . You do not need a higher education to be happy and successful and have worth.

Sara James

He said she does nails as a hobby at a nail salon, she went to cosmetology school and does this for a career. Him calling it a hobby is so condescending.

Sarah Michelle

How do you get to know somebody without meeting them?

Hailey Marie

I wonder what her native culture is. I’m Filipino and my partners family is Pakistani, both sides of our families use their hands for most meals. I wonder if this applies and she just has never had to use a knife?

Noelani Rollins

Gonna pause and blind comment before continuing- you mean nail tech??? Not hobby??? She has a job.

I’m kinda like the wife, I pretty much only eat spoon or hand friendly foods lol but I will definitely use a fork or knife if necessary. I will say this gave me flashbacks to one of my psych ward meals which was a whole ass fucking schnitzel and I had nothing but a plastic spoon.

Cedar Kenny

I had to go to Etiquette school when I was 14, it was fun and helpful!! She should just take lessons - simple solution

Literally my friends growing up always used to laugh that I neverrrrr use a knife to cut anything! Till this day 33 and knifeless at the dinner table ( for the most part) 😂

Madison Weiss

As a waitress at a young age I had regulars who were a couple and she Always cut his steak. I’m embarrassed to say but I judged him and thought it was ridiculous. Come to find out he had Parkinson’s. I felt like the biggest ass, and learned a valuable life lesson!

Rachel N

Omg I am HONORED!!!

This episode reminded me how much I love you guys! As a hairstylist who didn’t go to college but is making good money, you really validated my feelings. The way he talked about his wife gave me the ick and I loved your responses ! Thank you💜 🥲

Just a name option! “Is honesty ALWAYS the best policy???”

Katie Stecklair

pretty sure nail art is her job not her hobby 🥴 also I could be way off base here but it’s almost giving the vibe that she’s not white and maybe he’s embarrassed of cultural differences

Olivia Young

I can see why he wouldn't want to bring someone to a company dinner who will use their hands to eat. But the "hobbies", and the unwillingness to actually talk to her about it completely invalidates this and makes him the a hole

Nikita George

I'm not even a minute in but HOBBIES?? You're already the asshole

Kristin Heyder

Why is he even married to her if he has such a low opinion of her! What an a hole! Plus nail art is hard, I can’t do it 😂
