update on angels and flesh

hi

sorry, i've been kind of quiet for a bit, and i feel terrible about that.

tldr: i needed a mental health break. more angels VERY SOON! also i wrote a big chunk of a different story to keep my sanity, it's about turning into animals and eating the rich and you can read about it here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/69776/the-curse-of-flesh-everchanging 

things kinda just spiraled, but i am struggling forward. i had to take a little break from angels cause the pressure is getting wild, and some people have been a bit ruthless with the flaws. which is alright, i'll learn from them and be able to improve the story going forward.

but also royalroad is doing a community contest, and i wanted to try my hand at that! the theme was "mirrors don't eat people" and i ended up writing a story about a girl getting (spoiler alert) eaten by a mirror lol

but it's sad. it's much slower paced than angels. but it's also very sad, but like, it's about hope and community and growth, everything that i want, and also about turning into animals. like Animorphs by KA Applegate. other inspirations include The Wandering Inn by Pirateaba, Let's Not Obliterate by Little Help, and The Last Apprentice (Spook).

the world is much much bigger since it's not set in a high school lol. and I'm trying not to pressure myself too much, but themes that will be important are: community building, personal growth, eating the wealthy, overthrowing corruption, exploration, love, lots of love, and healing.

there's a bit over 20k words out (though a few chapters are scheduled to go live in the next few hours)

will i do patreon early chapters? if there's interest for the story, yes. 

will i make separate tiers? most likely no. early chapters for flesh will be included in the current tiers, so it's just extra for you if you want it. or you can just ignore it if you don't. i think that's the best way to do it? but if you have ideas let me know.

i'd love to hear your thoughts! it's a little scary putting out something much rawer than angels, and much much slower. but i need something to balance out how grim angels is, and i feel better having this out.

I'm also struggling with the title lol. it's currently called "The Curse of Flesh Everchanging" because I needed something quick to submit it for the contest. But the title I'm leaning toward now is "Samiya of the Wandering Flesh"
