Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood | Episode 1
Added 2024-05-08 14:00:10 +0000 UTCImmediately hooked. Like no kidding... mostly because of the banger music happening throughout the episode. But it felt super familiar, it seems like Alchemy and Bending share some vibes, so I think I'm going to enjoy this quite a bit!
Any way, as part of something I'm testing out, I'll be uploading videos here instead of YouTube, so that you all will hopefully not have to sync any more.
Let me know if y'all prefer this or syncing!
Enjoy 💜

What you've said is what I've heard from a few friends actually. I've really enjoyed the point up until where I've watched! Happy to have you tag along whenever! :)

2024-05-11 14:02:35 +0000 UTCI watched the older 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime a few years after it came out. I loved that series but the overwhelming consensus is that the 2009 Brotherhood version is better because it's more true to the original manga. I think by the time Brotherhood came out I was just less willing to tolerate some of those shonen anime tropes so I only watched a little of it, even if it is by all accounts objectively better than the older anime I watched. I probably won't watch most of this but I do know most of the mindblowing plot points from the older series so I'll try to tune in for those.

2024-05-11 04:39:01 +0000 UTCOh man I am so hyped to see you react to this! FMA:B is my favorite piece of fiction ever. The dub is absolutely stellar and a lot people consider it the best way to watch this show. The Japanese VA's are superb but there are certain nuances in the English rewrite that just hit harder. Fun fact: The first episode is kind of considered one of the weakest as it is essentially non-cannon to the manga and just serves as an introduction to the anime. Also FYI: Some episodes have post credit sequences. Some are utterly inconsequential/played up for laughs but others have important plot points. These are all the episodes with scenes after the credits: 6, 8, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 36, 40, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 48, 49, 54, 63, 64
