Sorry for the Silence

I intend to post the first page of Issue 20 (The cover) tonight to you folks. But I'm not sure if I'm ready to post the next few pages. I have them finished, but I'm still on page 4 and I really need to be on page 6.  I might post them anyway and play catch up during the latter part of December.  You guys deserve your comics.

One of the reasons I've been so late is my home situation. I know that I mentioned back in May that my dad had a stroke. What I haven't mentioned is that he's been in and out of the hospital since then. So this has been really stressful.

And I also mentioned Doobie being sick. He has also been in and out of the vet (And thousands of dollars later).  This weekend he got really sick.  He's been hospitalized at the vet as we speak, and it's looking to be another $1000 just for that. He was recently diagnosed with Cushing's Disease and his medication is currently $120/month and before he got this recent round of sickness, they wanted to increase his dosage. From what I've been told by other Cushing's dog owners, the average is $200/month.  This is why I'm going to increase my prices for commissions. It's solely to pay off Doobie's vet bills.  I've already had to dip into my savings to pay for it.  But the constant vet visits have also caused me to be unable to work on the comics at the pace I prefer to work at. Not to mention the worry involved.

Edit: I just got a call back from the vet and there's a very good chance that I'll have to have Doobie euthanized. There are still some options, but I don't know what the prognosis is, and they think he might be too far gone.

Edit 2: After talking to the vet with the options available, we decided that euthanization is probably best and I'll have to go up there in about an hour to have it done.
