I'm off to a good start! Here's what I have so far:
- the basic story/synopsis
- the "map"
- designs for the supporting characters
- rough sketches of a few locations
- sketches of all the inventory items
I've been using a program called GDevelop to create my game, mainly because it uses "visual scripting" That means I don't have to type out every line of code myself. The different conditions and actions have already been created, so I just need to organize them properly to make the game do what I want it to do. I've been practicing, and now I know the basics, like changing the cursor's appearance depending on the object it's hovering over, moving between locations, picking up objects, and making certain actions possible if a certain item has been picked up.
I should probably be careful about how much I share, so I don't completely spoil the experience for those of you eager to play!
⚠ Any suggestions regarding the things I should show, versus things I should leave a surprise?
