Another Sushi Swine Recommendation fell down my chimney. A sushi swine can be demon or angel, generous or mischievous, a bountiful blessing or a terrible curse. This was definitely the former. It's true, it finally happened. The mythical good anime has finally been found.

Ranking of kings supreme quality is so immediately apparent, within the first few minutes you can tell it blows every other current anime out of the fucking water without even trying. It feels like the best qualities of old Tezuka and Miyazaki while also being modern and fast paced. The story moves along as tenaciously as it's intrepid protagonist, one of the most instantly endearing anime protags i've ever seen. Bojji is a king on par with Spike Spiegal and Space Dandy, and he's far from the only great character.

This show has great characters out the wazoo, a unique setting, a refreshingly earnest and optimistic tone that isn't afraid to get dark when it needs to, and a new waifu for the S tiers in Queen Hilling. Nearly everything about this series is perfect and it easily meets the criteria for a great anime, which is that you could show it to a non-weeb without cringing yourself into a black hole.

It doesn't even feel like watching an anime. It feels more like a vision of what anime could have become in a better timeline. It rules. It kicks ass. Watch it.
