Possible story collabs/joint commissions

Hey all! I want your thoughts on something!

My good buddy Myr wants to get in on the commissions scene, and as such approached me with the idea of us offering a type of joint commission to jumpstart that. Her idea is where someone commissions both of us for a slightly higher price than my usual (+$30 or $50 or so) to get a story from me as well as one from her.

The thing is, if you take a look at her gallery, she has four stories uploaded. One of them was part of the novel she wrote for her college thesis, and the most recent one was posted over a year ago. That's part of why she came to me with the idea: I still get paid, and it's a super easy way to bring attention her way, too. So that's totally OK with me.

My only worry was that clients might not trust someone who doesn't have much of a portfolio at all, and no evidence of doing commission work in the past. So it'd be like taking a gamble. Also for quite a while, it'll probably seem to the client like they're getting a story from me, and then getting another bonus one alongside it. Myr was of the same opinion too.

We bounced some ideas off each other and figured that instead of doing my usual half-and-half invoice style, for this I'd charge my part before I start, and then she charges hers for her part, to keep everything separate and clean. She could do the same story from a different character's point of view, or a prequel/sequel story, or really whatever the client wants. I don't really go out looking to commission stories for myself, so I'm not sure what readers are looking for there!

What do you guys think? There's no real detriment to me since, again, I'll still be getting paid in full, and it's like doing trades where we both get double attention for uploading both pieces to our own galleries.
