I visited Japan for two weeks; both solo and with various music friends. It was absolutely amazing!!! I highly recommend going if you’ve been planning to. Norway is great but Japan is one step ahead on everything. The service, the technology, the food, it’s all impeccable. In order of appearance (apart from the front pic): Tokyo (Shibuya), Osaka, Nara, Kobe, Kyoto, Osaka, Tokyo (Mainly Sumida, Akihabara, Ginza, Ueno and Shibuya). Feel free to ask more about any of them, I’m happy to elaborate but I can’t write it all out here.
Highlights:
-Going to the secret Nintendo 84 café in Tokyo: We were told to turn off location services for any pictures. The location is confidential and you need a pass to enter. This bar is frequented by higher ups in Nintendo such as Sakurai and Miyamoto. Huge thanks to my friends Jeron and Robert for helping me visit!
-Osaka in general! My favorite city. Love the vibe, love the people, love the local markets. Osaka castle is a must. And Namba has incredible nightlife. Made many new Japanese friends here 🥰
-Nara park and its temples: Beautiful, Japanese nature and incredible temples and history. And of course, the deer 😊
-Meeting up with Kanae-san and Mr. Terashima: Kanae-san performed with her erhu on two of my releases this year and it was wonderful to meet her in Akihabara. She and Mr. Terashima showed me around! Mr. Terashima composed music for the Studio Ghibli movie ‘Tales from Earthsea’, he was very pleasant and it was an honor to connect with him.
-Tokyo Skytree: It’s much bigger than it looks and the view is gorgeous. There’s a special atmosphere up there because everyone are in awe of the view. Oh, and the mall and the foodhalls around the tower are A M A Z I N G.
-Night out in Shibuya: I met up with Eleviisa (who I did the Gurenge single with last year) and her friends for a night out in Shibuya! A fun night with bothold and new friends ❤️ Perfect way to cap off my stay.
-Misc: The Nintendo stores, the bullet trains, the food and service in general (PANCAKES), and the anime merch.
