GAME OF THRONES 5X2

Omg we’re finally here where I can start talking about dany”s problems as a queen. This episode begins to show her flaws as a ruler. While personally I think what she did this episode was right. It was the precendant that she set before that made this an issue. Up and till now it has been the masters are evil and are always in the wrong no matter what. And now that she killed a free man the free people see her as a master. So it’s a slippery slope.

My opinion on Dany, is she doesn’t yet understand how to rule. She doesn’t understand the intricacies. I would say she can conquer but not rule. I would say she needs to listen to advisors a little more closely. I get where she comes from but she is rash in some things and definitely has the targaryen fire. Still love her and I understand she thought what she was doing is right, but she REALLY needs to see that justice sometimes means mercy.

Honestly, I bet Dany is missing Jorah, and I did too in this episode 😅😭

Ace of Kpop

I never thought of that! You know she totally did too

Oh Littlefinger…that bastard. He’s deplorable. I giggled when you commented on Jamie’s hair. He’s fine! I still don’t hate him. I actually do like him, a lot. He’s made some bad decisions, but they all have. It’s just so messed up how Cersei has him wrapped around her finger and she knows it. And I agree with you regarding the chick from Dorne. Her beef is with Cersei, not the daughter whom actually seems really nice and decent. It seems all the bad genes went to Joffrey and the other two got the good ones.

When Arya arrived there is how I kinda how I pictured the place on earth that’s before it was under the sea called“Atlantis”would of looked like back in the day ngl 🤣

I think Dany should have shown mercy here. That was not the right move in my humble opinion

I'm still here! Lately with all the craziness happening in the US, I haven't watched as soon as uploaded like before because I need a better mental space for this show but I am here watching and I'm glad you're continuing! I'll do my catch ups on the weekends though!

Shaina

I always think that Cersei would've had to reassemble/seal that cage with Myrcella's necklace in again for Jaime to open since she already knew what was in there. For dramatic effect? 😂

Lola

I feel like whatever Dany was going to do, someone wouldn't be pleased with it. The public execution though definitely didn't win her any favors with the freed slaves. Ruling is hard and sometimes you're going to have to make tough decisions. This was just one of those moments for her.

"Jon got that Ned in him" --- don't speak no more, Cait!!! We can't have Jon being too Neddy.

Utpala Shrestha

Daenerys’ entire reign is based on equality, so she couldn’t have spared Mossador for something she would’ve executed somebody else for without losing the respect of the former masters. Her decision to do it publicly may have made her more unpopular, but it was also the most efficient way of proving her intention to treat all of her people as equals. I think her decision was the best she could have made after being pushed into a very bad situation

Gemma

I think Daenerys is in a tough situation.. she does seem to want to do the right thing, but realises one can't appease everyone at the same time.. But at the same time.. He did kill a prisioner awaiting trial. It was murder, by law.. and undermined her authority.. she hasn't given the kill order for that prisioner, and if everyone of her subjects starts executing their own justice, where would her own authority be? So.. In a way I do understand it.. yet, at the same time it destroyed a chunk of the trust those freed slaves had in her..

Lúcia Pacheco

I think Dany had to do it publicly because she had to show the freed slaves they can't just do thinks without repercussions and that the former masters will get justice too

Brittany Joy

That whole situation with Dany doesn't happen in the books. Dany never executes Mossador, and this entire situation of a former slave killing a former slave master and having to be punished and the freedmen turning against her doesn't happen. In the books Mossador is the name of one of the three brothers of Missandei (but they don't exist in the show).

Shakila

Tbh I can't blame Dany. Whatever choice she would've made, someone would've been angry about it. In this case, she followed the law and I respect that 🤷🏽‍♀️

Shakila

I feel like danny has strong values and ideals to be a great leader but she lacks a little in diplomacy and has proven to be quite stubborn in her ways as she's still very young and lacks the needed experience for it. Even her current counsellors are somewhat lacking when it comes to being versatile in diplomacy and confidently opposing her decisions that are based on misplaced values (in certain situations). SO I think she needs a competent group of individuals who can council her mindfully. If tyrion and varys make it to her and join her, I think her council will have a solid foundation and will fill in the gaps where danny lacks as they're proper diplomats and have plenty of talent and valid experience.

I was waiting all morning for this ❤️
