Whiplash, Kill It, and Pink Hoodie are personally my Top 3, and it's not even close. All of them remind me of that industrial / metallic, high-end / high-fashion, cutting edge / experimental sound that I just love. Flights Not Feelings kind of reminds me of something that would actually fit in Jaehyun's solo album, so I like it too! Flowers and Just Another Girl are closer to the genre of æspa that I don't love as much (i.e., Life's Too Short, Prologue, Melody) — they're both slower and maybe too vibey for me~? Overall, a good album! I think Savage and Armageddon still have some of æspa's better b-sides for me, but Whiplash was a good follow-up to an already MASSIVE year for the girls 🫶🏽

In my opinion, layering it on the second and third repeat or make use of Karina deep voice and her vocal fry will make it a R&B bop. Btw, I heard "Kill It" could have been a title track if it not for aespa girls choosing Drama instead. I personally "Kill It" fits its spot as the first or second b-sides similar to "I'll make you cry" and "Mine".

One of their best albums since Savage I think (Savage is still my no.1 though haha). Flowers just stole my heart with the melodies and the way the girls sing them <3, same with Flights Not Feelings (the instrumental to that one is insane, I LOVE It!!)

2024-10-25 04:18:09 +0000 UTCI remembered what song "Flights, Not Feelings" reminded me of: "Jet Lag" by NCT 127. Maybe not 1-to-1, but it reminded me of it in the feeling of the song...in a way. Maybe why I liked it the most on the album for Whiplash. "Jet Lag" sounded less downtrodden or whatever in the notes compared to "Flights, Not Feelings", but the fact the subject was also flying is interesting. I'm not a music expert, I'm sorry. Aespa's song sounded more kind of...chill, but also melancholy, wistful, less-positive, still cool.

2024-10-25 00:48:43 +0000 UTCIt's my own taste (so not facts), but "Flowers" felt like it dragged on, however "Flights, Not Feelings" feels less dragged out. Kind of reminded me of an NCT song I forgot the name of and I don't really hear that genre much ("Flights, Not Feelings"). Also could easily hear NCT Taeyong on this track in the delivery, like near the end. It's such a chill, melancholy, yet cool song.

Pink Hoodie, 5.Flowers, 6. Flights, Not feelings. It wasn't my fave album but bruh Aespa is for me Number 1 and I inhale everything what I get and every freaking comeback I am blewn away THESE GIRLS ARE KILLING IT

2024-10-24 23:41:10 +0000 UTCOh damn, excluding the title track, my favourite songs are Flights, Not Feelings, which to me sounds very 127?? (Time Lapse, Orange Seoul) and Flowers. I can't decide which one yet. I'm just an R&B girl at heart 😭 I think Fifi tweeted Flowers and Kai's Hello Stranger are reminiscent of eachother and I didn't think of it before seeing her tweet but I think she's right! Then it's Kill It! I adore that song, classic aespa with what they call the "iron taste". Had to run back that Winter part in the first verse, I was GAGGED! Apparently it was supposed to be a title track but they chose Drama (which I'm glad they did, I'm not over Drama either but it would have been an excellent title!) Pink Hoodie is fun and I got the same reaction at the Baggy Jeans mention lmaoooo I'd say Just Another Girl is my only skip from this album, I like the verses and bridge a lot but the chorus not so much, it might grow on me. This is how I completely arbitrarily ranked the songs: 1. Flights, Not Feelings 10/10 1. Flowers 10/10 3. Whiplash 9.7/10 4. Kill It 9.3/10 5. Pink Hoodie 8.7/10 6. Just Another Girl 6.7/10 9.1/10 for the album from me! It enters directly in my top 4 of the year tied with Walk 😭 And don't worry we're here for YOU and your opinion, like... I find it interesting to hear your takes and it can gives new perspectives on things, honestly don't sweat it! 🙏🏾

Flowers is my song down bad it’s my favorite 😭I love R&b down bad and Aespa voices fit so bad especially Ningning and karina omg. That was their song, they were the ones doing the adlibs at the end. They sounded so desperate LIKE SHOW THEM THOSE FLOWERS!!! But I loved this reaction thank you for it 💗✨!
