Rewatching this with you and I'm SO READY! It was a very tough thing for me to watch but seeing how things went had me hooked to see what would happen next.

I honestly and sincerely wanted to murder these kids and the adults that allowed this to happen. It just goes to show how good the acting was, and how well it grabs viewers from the beginning. Not gonna spoil anything, but by the end I was rooting for their downfall.

I agree how many K-Dramas a viewer has watched can affect how they rate or enjoy a drama but their feelings are out of your control. Please don't take it to heart the comments, it would be odd if their was not a single complaint/critique.

You're most definitely right bullets do not discriminate in America regardless of how rich/influential someone is if you bully someones kid. You might get shot even if the parent goes to jail. But then again like in her case there are parents who don't care about their children unfortunately for the child. ---The Glory can seem too dull or boring if a person doesn’t pay attention to everything that is said by all characters and symbolism. There is a reason to every scene and emotion and why each character acts the way they do. I think you will enjoy this drama and have the maturity to understand how everything unfolds.

2024-04-14 19:16:10 +0000 UTCThank you. I used to watch a lot of crime re-enactment show stuff, so this isn't even that shocking, but it still is in a way. If that makes any sense. I feel like I've 'seen it all before' for 'based on a true story' things, but something about -this- series feels more shocking than I could have imagined. ALSO the photos and sitting in a room alone scene with older Dong-Eun reminded me of...some Jennifer Lopez movie from the 2000's, was it called "Enough"? It was a movie about an abused woman and getting revenge, only it was aimed at her husband or something.

I absolutely love this show and how it makes you feel so many different feelings and keeps you in it's grips, it's why I'm rewatching it with Cait for the 4th or 5th time haha Also, just a little fun hint: the intro has images of things that are important in the show (for example, flowers made out of straightening irons and hair curlers. Even the snake will become relevant at some point)👀 I hope you enjoy the ride even if it is a little rough at times! The cinematography and directing alone are fantastic🤌🏻

It's...not a carat cake. This wasn't aimed at me, but yes, I will be here for the ride. The plot has me hooked more from seeing one episode than from the people talking about it, honestly.

2024-04-13 12:21:11 +0000 UTCThis just made me remember watching crime series based on real stuff on ID Discovery (A mystery and murder channel? It's Investigation Discovery) and Law & Order: SVU type stuff. So I'm really intrigued and also on the same wavelength as you with being angry. Which is even worse since I heard this was based on a real story. I don't know how much is true, but the curling iron was confirmed as part of the real story. ALSO I'm so nervous about the MC (Dong-Eun?) being near the bully ringleader's daughter because...yeah, as you said, once someone is beyond just broken (the main character, Dong-Eun), you need to watch that person because they will do anything to get revenge. So like red flags were going up as soon as she mentioned soft curling irons or whatever she said, while staring down at the bully's daughter. I know the young daughter is a jerk (kind of smug at times), but she's not old enough to know she was being rude to her. Also kind of messed up to tell that story to her bully's daughter (unless she held some stuff back? but she's also on a path of revenge, so I doubt she held back on details). Like...this is bad on so so many levels. Take your revenge on the mom, not the daughter who doesn't even know what 'hate' means. I'm so nervous but also like...intrigued at the same time. Damn, the actors are just so...scarily good at their roles. The jerk-*** adult that slapped Dong-Eun in front of the other adults at school, he reminded me of the guy from "My Demon" (you know which guy, the one who kept smirking, even though he wasn't the main villain from "My Demon"). Disgusted, interested, angry, sad, but a little happy about the one friend.

I assumed people were concerned for your mental state while watching dark things, not because the comments thought the show was boring. That is something else entirely, but yeah, I agree with you. It should be left up to you, so if some comment seems pushy, please tell me if it is. Also I think I probably would not have enjoyed "My Demon" or the other series I saw with you-the very funny romantic one, "Business Proposal"- if I watched it alone. Another thing: I'm in the same boat of being new to kdrama, only in the sense that I haven't really pushed myself to watch many (the longest drama I ever watched was "Rich Man" with Suho of EXO, before that it was Do Kyungsoo's of EXO's drama I forgot the name of, but it was the role that really got him noticed in the acting industry). Even if I like a kpop group, it doesn't mean I'm going to watch their dramas or movies. "Dear M" (Jaehyun's drama) was another new drama for me, despite me being an NCTzen, (along with Yuta's movie debut for "High & Low: The Worst X", which was also really good, too) so I did not even think to watch them until I became a Patron to your Patreon, lol. Not really a kdrama person, but that's okay! Had to comment before I watch this show. I get to watch new dramas/movies because of you. Thank you, Caitlin.

I don't mind bullying in drama's because its not normally severe like this and I enjoy revenge stories, but this one is just built different. Maybe because it's based on a true story of what happened to a girl in Korea. I'll try to watch your reactions though, even if it will be tough.

I totally understand what you mean by being confused by the votes vs the comments because they confused me too lmao Is this show for everyone? Absolutely not. Is it still totally worth it to give the first 3-4 eps a chance? Yes, especially since you were interested in watching it yourself as well. I also felt like a lot of people were worried you'd get too worked up over this. I do think the concern is sweet but also you're an adult and from what I've seen you seem to take breaks and take it easier whenever necessary, so I'd assume that would also translate to this. Only you will know if it's too much for you, and you'll be able to manage that however you choose. I personally hope you'll enjoy the ride because BOY will it be one!

Also, I see you also watched ep1 of Twinkling🥰 if you do continue to watch The Glory I suggest also watching Twinkling Watermelon episode by episode with TG to kind of keep balance. Because this show can be “dark” so I think you’ll enjoy getting to unwind and get over how angry u get by watching a more cheerful youth show like Twinkling. Just my opinion tho, if you can’t do both it’s fine💚

Koreans were saying that the bullying in real life is sometimes even worse that in this show and I can’t even imagine this happening in school in my country so saying it’s even worse omg… This drama really gave me anger issues but it was satisfying to watch the revenge haha A little fun (not so fun) fact: the actress who’s playing adult Sara was actually proven to be a bully in real life too so no doubt the acting was so good😭😭

I literally had to pause so many times to breathe when i was watching this before because it’s too much😭 also, idk if somebody already said this, but like some of the bullying scenes actually happened in real life, esp the iron one… the casting in this show is one of the best imo💯
