Literally sounds just like our house with additions and upgrades and whatnot. Good luck! How did I not know you're in Illinois?! I'm an Illinois girl born and bred but am a Londoner now. My dad is from Champaign-Urbana (I was born down there) but Mom is from Chicago (my hometown). The house sounds amazing and YES. Make your room your sanctuary because that's exactly what it should be. Adulting is sometimes THE WORST but it's also pretty amazing. Make sure you find ways to de-stress and unwind because they are so important to keeping your life in balance. Keep going with school! It's not long now but the last year is always the toughest. From an older homeowner to a new one: pay your property taxes, get a good security system, homeowners insurance is a must and find reputable and reasonable repair people before you need them (maybe the current owners have contacts since they built an extension). Congrats again and you've got this!
