Redesigning Two Buildings for the Town 🏡

Hello everyone! Léa, here today to bring you two building redesigns for the city! We are getting closer to the release, and we need to rework some of our previous builds to include them in our brand new town. In our most recent trailer, you got a first glimpse at the city that you will soon be able to explore. Since then, we’ve been hard at work on improving our older builds, and today I will be showcasing the Gym and the Lighthouse!

The Lighthouse: An Important Landmark

Over the last few weeks, I had the pleasure of working on redesigning the Lighthouse, an important building that will be visible from nearly every corner of the map. We needed it to be memorable but still coherent with the rest of the town. We had a couple of iterations, and we are happy to officially introduce the final version!

The Lighthouse has evolved quite a bit since its first appearance back in June 2020 in this video.

If you’ve been reading the other Patreon Posts, you might already be familiar with the process. For those who are not: we start with a moodboard to have a good idea of the direction we want to take for a building, after that we draw the building and try to make it look as close as the result we want in the game.
Since the Lighthouse was an important landmark, I had to do many iterations before finding the one we liked the most.

The original concept was drawn based on the references of the moodboard, and the building itself has evolved a lot since then. We decided to separate the Lighthouse since otherwise, it made for quite a bulky building.

I can’t wait for your Paras to explore this place, it’s such a nice place to have a romantic date!

New and Improved Gym: A Place to Take Care of your Paras

In the Gameplay reveal, we introduce you to a fancy gym where our Paras exercised and met new people. I worked on a new version that would fit in the lot assigned to it, and it’s now built on two floors instead of one. Since the building is in the industrial neighborhood, I also needed to design an exterior that would belong there.

The first floor of the building with the reception, the changing rooms and their showers, a snack corner and a cardio area.
