New Team Members! + What You Can Expect From Paralives This Year

Happy New Year!

The whole Paralives team wishes you and your family the very best for 2023! We have exciting game development updates that we will be sharing with you every Friday here on Patreon so I’m sure it’s gonna be a great year for Paralives and that’s starting today with good news!

New Team Members: Richard and Alejandro

We’re pretty excited to announce two new team members on the Paralives team this week. Welcome Richard and Alejandro! Here’s what they had to say to introduce themselves:

💬 “Hello Patrons of Paralives, I’m Richard. I have been coding and designing games for the last 9 years. I love programming and cooking. I aim to use at least one of those passions for this great project. I’m also a big fan of cozy games like The Sims, Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon.”

💬 “Hello everyone! I am Alejandro and words cannot emphasize how excited I am to join the Paralives team as an Intern Programmer and Game Designer. In simple words, I am a gamer. I grew up playing games from Final Fantasy on the NES to The Sims on the original Xbox. When my brother, Andrei, joined the project, I was so excited for him and now that I can join too and contribute to this amazing community, it’s just an awesome feeling. I hope I can share my passion for the project and for the community.”

We’re now 11 people on the team. Richard and Alejandro will be joining Anna, Jérémie and myself (Alex) on the programming and game design team. Together, we will be working on creating all the features that are still to be developed before we can release a first enjoyable version of the game in Early Access.

What You Can Expect From Paralives This Year

🌱 Exciting live mode feature showcases: Last year, we worked on the foundations of the live mode, mainly the interaction and animation systems. This year, you will see us share updates about a wider range of live mode features like skills, needs, relationships, careers and more.
👕 More content for the Paramaker: Now that our Paramaker is almost feature-complete, Sonia and Léa will be focusing on creating a lot of new clothing items, hair styles, body presets, etc. Looking forward to showing all these!
🪑 New furniture, objects and house showcases: Paralives build mode is in good shape but is still missing a lot of furniture and objects to make sure that players will have a wide variety of options when furnishing and decorating their house. Chloé and Léa will be sharing with you many build mode objects that they will be working on.
💃 Character interactions and animations previews: Alice will be creating all kinds of animations that we will be sharing with you: interactions between two Parafolks, hobbies, cooking, cleaning, emotions, needs, death(!) and more.
🎶 Music and audio previews: Last year, Andrei worked on establishing the musical and audio direction for Paralives. This year, he will be focusing on creating many tracks and sound effects for the different parts of the game.
